Started a Powerlifting Club

I know man, just pulling your chain. Nice looking squat, looked easy.

What size of Centurion do you wear…40?

it’s not a centurion, it’s a old superior suit and yes it a 40 .

Now let’s have some fun…outside the club!

You remember Joel? he is now down to 190 pounds after 7 weeks of dieteting and he will some big numbers. He’s looking ripped haha

Nice, I’m assuming Joel has no intentions of doing Jr. Worlds then…is he aiming to stay at 90kg now?

He can’t afford the trip to south africa. As we talk , joel stand 186 pounds…and benched an easy 210 kilos . He’ll compete on july 19 th at 181 to beat Greg doucette’s bench of 230 kilos!, after that he’ll go back slowly to 90 and then 100 kilos.

Ok i’m back with some updates, i’ve been busy in my new military carreer. The club is still rollin’. Big numbers around the corner.

Recent accomplisment from the guys:Yves brousseau benched 407 at 165 single ply, Joel hitted a nice total at 90 , can’t remember the number but it was something like 617 bench and dead and 475 bench. As for myself i did not the time to rain at all.

I’M back into it right now. I’M preparing to do a raw meet a 181 . Shelby Starnes at ELITEFTS help me diet wise. So i will come next year at national ripped and strong(i hope)haha. Right now my main goal is to bench 400 raw at 181.

My numbers really dropped. deadlift wise 550 right now, squat? don’t really know but i did a 450 pounds box squat completly raw(not event a belt) a real grinder haha slowly back at it.

- YouTube first squat training

Glad to see this thread is back and going strong. Whens your RAW meet? numbers like that at that weight are some serious lifts. Im checking your WO and wondering, are you running anything specialized? like a pre-designed workout such as shieko, smolov or anything of the sort based on total volume and/or percentage?

Seriously i don’t know , i have my base plan written down. I love you know to learn by trial and error. As for sheiko’s no way, too much volume and you loose the feeling of ‘‘instinctive’’ training. I enjoy trying stuff and as far it’s good for me . And most of my programming was good for the other guys too they did great this year. I’m no way an expert but i’M an explorer. The diet starts on 4th of march. It looks fucking brutal. high carbs and low carbs day for 2 weeks. I’m pretty confident with the results, Shelby Starnes knows his shit.

Jon

For the record… I know this is from a LONG time ago, but nice Skinless shirt on the pic at the top of the page.

sounds good dude, and your music choice in my opinion is OPTIMAL. I guess its good your just exploring your routines, im sure with this diet youll need some adjustments…good luck with all this shit and keep us all posted

Oki back from training

ME Lowerbody
raw squat(no belt) 1x45x10,2x135x5,1x185x5,1x225x5,1x315x5,1x365x3,1x405x2
Squats were done fucking deep

Acessories
Seated goodmorning squat 2x135x10,5x245x5
Squat starting from bottom 2x225x12 (deep enough to be IPF legal)

Supplemental

Leg curl
4x70x25

Roman chair sit up
2xbwx12

I’M quite happy with the squats. I forgot how fucking brutal raw squat are…my form was total shit, i have not maxed out on olympic style squat for about 2 years…totally out of groove. I will work on the form. 450 with a belt is doable.

Jon,

Those were some great videos. I’ve started using reverse band bench and I’m really liking it. Hopefully it gives me some good carryover to raw bench.

What are you weighing now?

Oh yeah, and welcome back from the great white north!

I’M actually still in the north!i’M boucing between 189 to 195 right now. I really don’t think they got a great carryover but they’re very on the triceps . I use them ton bring up my tri’s. The best would me 2 board press but alone it’s hard to do that.

I train alone so for any board press I either wear two shirts and put the boards in between (in the winter) or I use a short bungee rope that I have in my car trunk to hold the boards on (in the summer). Obviously it’s not ideal, but it can work.
