Current PR 195
Goal - 250…for now!!!
Gonna use a singles routine for my standing mils in addition to my normal 5/3/1 training.
Who’s racing to 250 and who’s racing to 300?
Today I did 3 singles at 140.

Rug, my current PR is 205. I am not even sure how reasonable 250 is, but I’ll race toward it nevertheless and post progress here. Hmm, now I need to come up with a plan . . .
Well…my dumbass fell for the “let’s race to 300” trick. So, I guess I am in for 300#
Current max: 260#
Goal Max: 300#
ETA to Goal: 2 years? lol
I have no plan of action. I seem to respond better to a cycle with more reps at the beginning and tapering to singles and doubles by the last week. I will have to try push presses again, even though my shoulders don’t like them. Not sure what else I can do but lift the damned weight.
Thanks for getting us started, RL!
So everyone is here except the one responsible for starting this whole damnable thing!
He must be doing some actual work.
HA - my current tested max is 135. I love to hit a bodyweight MP within the year. Lets see - lose 25 pounds and that would have me pressing 210-25 = 185 only 50 lbs to go <snort, snicker…>

Are we talking body weight?
If its MP I’ll be racing to 250. See what I can do tonight.
I’d be willing to race to 225. Might even gain weight for that.

Steve, you already MP over 250#, don’t you? I thought you were at 275# or higher!?

Tony, I think that OP and Jack would go for that. Rug is the one you have to work on!
Rug, you guys could do 225#. Then when you hit it, move on over to the 300# race. I am sure that we will still be trying to get there, unless bulldog smokes it right out of the chutes.

Not to be polishing your balls, but I think you’re highest in the running right now.
Ok, I am in. My best was at one time 385 but that was 10 years ago. Saturday 200x1, it was easy but a long ways from 300.

Maybe…I don’t know what bulldog’s current 1RM max is, though. Also, I have no idea how well my MPs are going to progress. I have never focused on them for 1RM. I fear that the progress will be slow. It will be a learning experience either way.
Biggjames - I’m expecting that your 1RM will be on a rapid ascent. You’ll be back over 300# before you know it!
RL - I like the qualifier, “to start”. There’s no way you would be content stopping at 225#.
Damutt - Welcome to the fun! I am guessing that bulldog works during the day?
yeah he sure does… I figured I would see him last night but he was a no show at the meeting… I bet he will be on here soon he has gotten used to the blogging

Howdy guys!I brought some Jack Daniels for the party!! Heres the deal im not going to change much in my program.Im still going to do 5/3/1 as I get ready for my meet in October. The next seven days im on a deload.Ugh.For the record "Strict"your in the lead right now.

This cutoff is 54. Anyone older obviously has an unfair advantage.
