Unfortunately, I’ve sustained a rather debilitating groin injury while performing a set of Jefferson cleans earlier today. So I’ll need to do the Prime Time while standing, but I’m ready and game for your qaestions.
PS: Has anyone seen the new reality show featuring Shaq?
im a fat guy i got the diet down but how should i train with lifting and do u think cardio is good to loose the pounds…im a cop i need to loose it I thought i was going to fall over last week on a foot chase…any help would be great…what have you found that would loose it fast as poss
I lift 2 days a week on my own, and one day 3, I get together with a bunch of buddies, and on that day we push cars, drag sleds, carry rocks, and a variety of other things that cause my neighbors to peer at us suspiciously through their blinds.
It’s really as simple as that…you might not have much equip, but just buy it little by little, and in the mean time, just make use of what you have…don’t make things more complicated than they need to be. Hope that helps…

Hey Coach,
Do you have any advice for someone looking to incorporate strongman training into their training split?
Any and all of it will work, but regarding cardio, stick with short duration intervals, lasting maybe 30-90 seconds: ideally running, hipp sprints, car pushing, and or sled dragging. This is a nice little slice of the energy pathway that happens to be not only IDEAL for fat burning, it’s also very event-specific to your job.
Please let me know if you need more clarification!

Well, a Jefferson lift of course, is a deadlift where you’re straddling the bar (as opposed to having both legs behind the bar, you have one behind and one in front).

Awsome! Thanks for the info. Just curious, what does your training look like on the other two days?
Hey T-Citizens, I’m going to buy my first motorcycle soon, any thoughts? I’m a novice but just went through the AZ safety program which lead to my license (GREAT course BTW, I highly recommend it).
One one day I’ll do cleans followed by deadlifts, then benches and pullups. On the second day, I’ll do snatches followed by squats, then bench press followed by rows or chins.
I vary from this occasionally, and over the months, there are some shifts in what I do, but that’s the gist of it.

The first person who calls Julianne at my office - 800-519-2492 - gets a FREE copy of my new DVD, A Complete Video Guide To Escalating Density Training. Whoever ends up winning, come back and tell me how cool we are!

For three weeks I’d squat 3x/wk. Use the same techniuqe, the same weight, and the same sets/reps every time. Monitor your degree of comfort, orthopedic symptoms, soreness, and strength levels. Session by session, you should feel more comfy and stronger. Then add weight, and continue as usual until it feels super-easy. After that, I’d shift to twice a week, OR, if you stay with three times, use different loading parameters each session.

Any tips for someone getting back into squats after a long layoff?
had some personal issues/injuries… long story short havent been doing much lower body for a few months.
I’m trying to figure a 3 day split that will maintain the bench strength I’ve built up but focus on squat and posterior chain. tips? advice?[/quote]
Charles, it’s as simple as this: Assume everyone behind a wheel is an idiot who is consciously bent on nailing you. You’ll be safe by being paranoid and proactive.

Thanks disc…that’s exactly how I plan to operate. And actually, that’s part of the appeal of a cycle…in a car, it’s “possible” to lay back and be a passenger so to speak, but on a cycle, you MUST be proactive and engaged, if you wanna live anyway. That’s how it seems to me anyway.
