Lately I’ve been developing a squating fetish (going more towards a powerlifting physique rahter than a body building one). I was just wondering what do you guys squat currently/goals?
My stats:
Height: 5’9’’
Weight: 160 (I know, I’m starting to eat a shitload more so hold off on the “Drink milk and squat” quotes).
Weight Squatting: 300lbs for 6 reps (gonna try to go for 8 reps next time) with a wide stance and all the way down =)
About five years ago, I worked up to a level where, I could hit twenty reps breaking parallel with 420. At that time I also hit ten reps with 500 to parallel. This past Monday, i had 405 on the bar for the first time in ages and I hit five reps pretty easily and I will continue to work up each week.
I’m only squatting about 140, but I bounce my ass off the back of my shoes, and I’m doing 2x12 right now. I’ll definitely be bumping up the weight once I start working at the gym, and switching to more like a 5x5.
I still think it’s better to go all the way down with a lighter load, but that’s just me. I don’t see the use for a 1/8 or 1/4 squat, that’s meaningless.
I patiently await the day where I see someone doing curls at the squat rack, I’m gonna embarass that boy. I hope there’s a microphone.

Thats the way to do it! Form is key. Just make sure your not actually bouncing at the bottom.

I want to hit 700lbs max by the time I’m 18 ;)
Wow, incredible, im 18, 155 lbs and can only squat 130 ATG (and my flexibility doesn’t even allow me to go all the way down - so I go a few inches about ATG). I wish I could squat 300 - I’d look damn good naked (haha just kidding).

Can I see some pics?
Sorry mate, don’t have a digi cam or anything Need to get me one…I don’t go ALL the way down (ass hitting the floor haha) but I do go as far down as my body will allow me. I used to have the flexibility problem too until I started stretching more etc. As soon as I do get pictures I’ll post 'em up =) By than I’ll probably be able to squat 400 haha.
Right now I can go 10 reps with 275lbs. I tried putting 315lbs on the bar on Sunday, I went down, started coming up and I was like ‘Fuck yeah I’m going to hit this a few times!’ but as I came about half way up, I have no idea what happened, but I lost balance and the bar rolled forward onto my neck and I had to roll it over my head onto the lowest pins. It wasn’t too fun. I’ve decided to slowly add more weight instead of jumping from 275 to 315 after this incident.

Chances are he’ll be able to curl your weak ass squat. Maybe you should put up some real weight before opening your mouth and acting like a dick. Better yet just don’t act like a dick. It will get you much further in life.
At least he’s squatting and not looking like chicken legs…although I do admit, I love seeing those guys walk around the beach Whenever someone asks my bench (my bench is weak working on it though) I always ask back how much they squat. Some of them don’t even know what a squat is haha.
Good job on your squat man ! You may be able to squat more than my 19 year old 190 lb weak ass lol ! You will hit 700 in no time if you keep working hard and eat lots.

You squat 140 and you want to embarass someone in the gym? E is right, chances are thet “boy” will be bigger than you (id say 90% of the existing pop is).
I have no intentions of out-lifting anyone. My bar at home only holds 140, so that’s how much I lift. I will take your advice and stop trying to be cocky, because I can’t really back it up. Instead, I’ll just keep pushing weights and eating.

Yeah I probably deserved all that.

Honestly, thanks for keeping me in check.

It’s really cool to hear you say that. There’s hope for this one.
