if you do a couple of sprints and are fine after that then a few squats should not feel so taxing

I’ve seen some very fit guys throw up or sit out sets after being introduced to squats. They just need to get used to using that much of their body at once.
Unrack, take a couple of breaths, squat, hold your breath on the way down and on the way up, when you get to the top breathe again.
Also learn to breach using your gut (aka diaphram). When u breath in you gut swells, your shoulders DON’T rise, and when you breath out the gut shrinks. This way you can get enough O2 in between reps since the loaded barbell won’t let you raise your shoulders when you breath.
