Currently I have been doing a mix between the get shredded diet and the velocity diet since spring break is coming up and I want to look goooood.
Right now I am 6’1 205lb at probably 7% bf. Since I am following the velocity diet on my off days, only shakes and some cottage cheese, and only getting carbs on my workout days, I would like to know how I can go to Cabo for a week and not screw myself.
Last year my roommates and I had 1 meal a day, a bid plate of maccaroni and cheese and the rest of the day we just drank lots of alcohol. After reading Berardi’s Get-Unshredded article I’m afraid of what might happen when my diet changes so drastically.
Basically, I don’t want to lose all my gains or put on a lot of weight from all the empty carbs and cals I will be drinking and all the protein I won’t be getting during this time. Help. Any supps I should take with me? ZMA? Any advice would be great. Thanks
You’d expect a guy to be happy once he’s 7% BF in regards to looking good on vacation.
Since youre already lean enough, get off the V-diet and get shredded and go on a low carb diet like the T-dawg 2.0.
If you go from get shredded to get shitfaced, you’re going to be VERY unhappy with your results. It will be a very drastic change and will result in putting alot more BF on than you’re going to want. Granted you’re going to put some BF on after a week of getting hammered in mexico. I just think you’ll be less dissappointed if you go from a not so extreme diet to a shitty diet.
Read up on the t-dawg diet. He recommends 100/70 carb split for workout/non-workout days. Since I am doing SFM by Waterbury right now, would it be okay, or maybe better, to get more than 100 carbs on workout days. 100 seems to be rather low. Getting the extra carbs on workout days would allow my body to begin handling them better without compromising fat loss no?
You could drink less beer and replace the beers you would be drinking with liquor so you wouldn’t fill up on empty calories and end up eating only one meal a day.
dude, you don’t have to throw everything out the fuckin window just cause you’re partying.
stay away from the mac and cheese, buy meat, you don’t have to eat what everyone else does.
when drinking only drink straight (or on the rocks) liquor, pack a couple boxes of protein bars and maybe a bottle of BCAAs and keep your cardio up by fucking lots of chicks, and you’ll be fine.

Great advice…esp. the cardio. I don’t know if it really counts, but dammit it’s worth a try.
Are you sure you’re at 7%? That’s pretty damn low. Are you completely shredded? Did you have it tested?
You could have fun all spring break and barely make a difference in bodyfat levels afterward (everything in moderation of course). In fact, it would be similar to someone competing in a bodybuilding show and then following it up with a week of eating and laying off. You might come back bigger and stronger.
