Numerous 1st, 2nd, and 3rds at martial arts competitions. (Nothing national level). 1st and 2nd place in various soccer leagues. State ranked in 12 oz. curls and 40 proof cleans. Intergalactic grand champion of screwing up with wimmins
During high school, I played junior hockey and still hold two league records: most time spent in the penalty box; and I was the only guy to ever take off his skate and try to stab somebody.
oh, yeah Goldberg, that HS stuff was all in Georgia. And for a while I was the only white Kick0ff returner around those parts.
I’ve lost 8 or 9 steps since then. Gained some good masss though.
Hmmm. Let’s see.
Played soccer for 8-years. During those years, my team was either 1st or 2nd in our division.

My greatest accomplishment though was when I beat Goldberg in arm wrestling, but he’ll never admit it. lol
Won 20-25 medals and trophies for swimming in junior high
Was the foul shooting champion at about 5 basketbal camps along with being chosen to various All- Star teams.
Made varsity freshman - senior year of high school for basketball and field hockey. Got fourth in the state my junior year for b-ball.

High School, threw shot put and discus, wrestled heavy weight and beat the European champ my first match, then got smashed by some 280 pound Samoan beast. He was at least nice about it afterwards by offering some advice on my technique. Played football (DE) until I beat the high school squat record and simultaneously destroyed my knee. Went on to college and tried to walk on the football squad but my knee wasn’t up to snuff yet, so I became a nerd and graduated with a 4.0
**Patricia, I know you are a bad ass and all but my liver is steel reinforced, I haven’t met someone that can hang with me yet. All the same I asked you for a print of one of your pieces some time back. I never got a response so I figured you never got the message. Let me know if you are still selling interested.

I started weightlifting regularly to be a better cross-country runner. As it is, I was one of the more mediocre runners on my Division III college team. I only scored (meaning, was one of the top 5 runners on the team) in one race in 3 years of collegiate running. I promptly bragged to everyone I knew, “I scored this weekend!” “With who?” they asked. “With the men’s cross country team, of course!” Some people misinterpreted this, which led to a number of interesting rumors.
In 2000 I came in 3rd in a sprint triathlon with 12 participants. In 2nd was a chick who was maybe 40 lbs overweight, but could swim. In 2002 I came in 2nd in a one-mile race that had maybe 20 participants.
It’s all about choosing races where you know not many people will show up.
Pre- high school - won lots of races. More than a few times I arrived so far at the front of the pack that I was accused of cheating or was put into the boys finish area by mistake.
High School - cross country team was first in Class C, ranked second in NY state, fourth in the country.
college - nothing special, unless you count winning SCA type tournaments against guys. Wait, yes, that should count.
after college - two international rugby tournaments, my team got second both times, I was one of two MVP’s the second year.
I also speed skate now, but I’m bad. ![]()
BodyIQ - Hey…I competed in the same show at the Kodak theater in Rochester from '93-'96 except I was in the masters (40-50 division). They put on a class show there.
Some very talented and devoted people here…very inspiring
Ask me again on Saturday afternoon. If I don’t start bonking at some point in the ride I’ll have ridden a century bike ride (100 miles). Nothing spectacular really, but I’ve set a goal to ride a 100 mile ride by the end of the summer (only been cycling since early July, so its a hyooge goal).
Track and field: Jack. Shit. However, I did advance to the Finals this past year in our Zone Track Meet for the 100m. I plan on ripping everybody at that meet a new asshole next year a la 1000% more hamstring training and adding Olympic lifts. Just you wait, bitches. 11.75, here I come. (Not you bitches, the bitches at the track meet)
Speedskating: Nothing yet. I haven’t begun competing yet though. I plan on starting this season and hope to go to Nationals at the end of the season depending on how well I do in the meets preceding that.
I was actually scouted out by a Travel Team coach when I played hockey back in 4th grade. He offered my parents for me to be on the team but they turned it down because being on a travel team is tough as hell.
Thats about it. I’m not very “competition” oriented. At least not yet.
Runner up in state amateur schoolboy boxing.
Gave a 3X state Muay Thai contender with a 5-0-5 record 3 counts and a unanimous decision. In this fight I fractured my shin in the second round trying to be tough. I tried to bust his shin with mine. He stopped checking and I kept kicking
He fought for the titles after that fight as myself and my opponent both had fractures.
I have the a high school 100 metres and hurdles record. In year 12 I was age champ, winning all sprints, jumps. Second in discus & first in shot.
Second in district 100m sprint.
Oh and I was always last caught in red rover ![]()
Chrismcl-I can run 11.75 backwards. haha.
Humanator-What school did you play for in GA?
Man I just realized I was an Artsy Fartsy Gal in Highschool. Although I did earn three scholarships, they had nothing to do w/ sports :(… One was for Art, one for Creative writing, and one for music… (see – told ya’ I was artsy fartsy) If I had it to do over again, I would have particapated in many more athletic activities. I attribute it to my father passing away when I was five and having no athletic role models in my life. My mother was definitely not an athletic lady.
My goal is to see to it that BOTH my son and my daughter are physically active, and what better way to do that than to be active parents.
It is good to see so many achievers on the forum… very inspirational.
All relate to golf during early-mid 80’s (stop laughing!)
NZ age group team V Australia twice
2nd and 3rd in South Island Champs
3rd or 4th (can’t recall) North Island Champs
2nd NZ foursomes
5 or 6 minor tournament wins
Numerous provincial teams
2 hole in ones
1 double eagle
lowest round = 64 (9 under)
lowest 4 round total = 283 (I’m pretty sure)
My calm and patient manner helped a lot ![]()
Here we go again…15,16
Damn, Hyphnz. Thats awesome. My best round was a 96. haha. But i could hit a 5 iron over 200 yards. But i couldnt putt.
High school - 3rd place in state 4x4 relay team considering we were class C and we would have beaten all other calsses and broke the state record foar all 3 classes I think we did pretty good. The other two teams were mutants. our splits were 48.9 -me lead off 48.5 my best friend ed, 49.8 our sprinter jeremy, and 48.2 my other best friend rob. I also jumped over 20 ft in long jump best mile was 4:38 best 200 M was 21.7 went to state cross country meet in 10th 11th and 12th grade made federation meet senior year as a team and took 70th overall (all classes combined) won our conference in cross country as a 10th grader, won our conference in long jump as a senior. I was basically pretty fast but could also gut out the longer distances, oh yea I also threw the disc over 110 ft in high school. not bad for a 160lb twirp. and I can beat all of you in Soul Calibur! HaH!
Okay, I guess I just listed my placings in my other post here.
RAMROD (Ride Around Mt Rainier in One Day) – best time 8:15 for 156 miles (and 10K feet of elevation gain).
STP (Seattle to Portland) – did this one twice, and my time was within 5 minutes.
Best 800 in HS – 2:07
Best mile – 4:25
Could actually do a decent 200 IM in college.
Basketball – had the record for warming the bench.
