Hey everybody,
Quick question about a split squat variation I saw and was curious about. I actually saw it in a video by Team Quest. In it the person had his rear foot turned more outward rather than the regular position. So basically, it looked almost like he was split squatting out of his more normal fighting stance. What do you guys think of this? Is it safe for the rear knee? What’s the advantage? Or was it just crap form in the video?
Thanks for any input…
Personally, I don’t see the rational behind this technique. It might increase the stretch in the inner thight/adductor region, but what gives? Imho it shouldn’t offer any benefits in terms of muscle activation but is potentially harmfull for the rear knee. I’d prefer regular split squats, bulgarian or siff split squats.
