I have a problem with my ankles/feet getting sore after working out. Most of the soreness is around the ball of the heel. I?ve had this problem for several years now.
When and Details:
It usually not sore when working out, if I work out at 7pm, the soreness kicks in around 11pm. If I get up in the middle of the night, I?m limping around like Hunchback of Notre Dame. It last until the morning and goes away usually by the time I arrive at work.
Workout:
I do not jog or run, my workout consist mostly walking the dog everyday and of olympic lifting. When I do cleans or snatches, my feet do not leave the floor. I?ve had this problem for several years. I use to jog for exercise and would have the problem (I stopped five months ago). When I was in summer school, I stopped working out (no walking or weight training) for three weeks and noticed that my ankles/feet felt fine.
Shoes:
At work I wear clogs which are good for you so I don?t think it?s the shoes at work. The shoes I wear for working out are pretty good for people with a neutral curve.
I saw a podiatrist about the problem (this was before summer school so I thought it was related to walking around at work or walking the dog). He says that I have a neutral curve, I?m not over-pronated or under. He suggested a regime of ibuprofen: 3 pills taken 3 times per day for several months. He also suggested professional made inserts for the shoes. He didn?t think I had the medical condition that is very similar to this (can?t remember the name).
Body Weight:
I?m not massively over-weight but do weight 238lbs, I say I could stand to lose 25lbs but I?ve had this problem for several years (maybe about four years) and I did not weight that much several years ago (four years ago maybe weight 210lbs).
Any feedback would be most helpful.
