Some Training Videos

the trolling is so heavy

Secondly, me splitting some massive piece of wood in a SEA OF WOOD, with a maul, kind of does support my claims. if you think a regular person who doesn’t use a maul or sledge hammer a lot, could even split that wood, (after splitting all the other wood around me)you are kidding yourself. Those are pieces other people use a sledge hammer/maul or chain-saw to cut through. So yeah. (it’s also later in the day, after I had been splitting wood for hours.)

YOU HEAR THAT T-Nation!?

A SEA of WOOD!

And when IRONCLAWS begins fighting, the ring will be a SEA of BLOOD! A red wine bath of his opponents life force, laying on the canvas LIKE SO MANY PIECES OF CHOPPED TREE!!!

Shit! I mean “LIKE SO MANY PIECES OF SPLIT TREE!!!”

And he will wear their heads on his belt, like a slightly shorter Predator with stringier hair!

Rage! Goddess, sing the rage of Nova Scotia’s son Iron Claws,
murderous, doomed, that cost Nova Scotia countless losses,
hurling down to the House of Death so many sturdy souls,
great fighters’ souls, but made their bodies carrion,
feasts for the dogs and birds!

one of the funniest things I have ever read on this site.

random note you are nice enough to let your opponent and everybody know when your punch is coming with your left shoulder dip. Otherwise you would hit him with all that power. It’s very nice of you.

I do it to. Hard to correct.

you might say that about his jab, but what about his woodchop?

you wouldn’t be able to see it by a mile and would be minced-meat by now…

It’s probably sad but true that I am a lot more skilled with a maul or hammer than striking. haha.

left shoulder dip? I’ll have to re-watch it to look of that. Also, some pretty hilarious posts since last time. had a good long laugh over Irish’s post.

seconds 33-34 is what i’m talking about. The whole video though is the type of conditioning I am talking about. Trekking through snow like that knee/waist deep in say -15 or -20 feels like death, doing it with a log on the back like vitali there, or with a 50pound pack, or with some guy attached to the sled is brutal. (not to mention the pullups without a bar. I use a giant thick-branch in the woods, some tree i need to half climb. can barely get my hands around it, doing reps on that is hard, doing reps with a 20pound vest is really hard let alone doing them in a barn, on a board with nothing to “grip” just pulling your body-weight up with the flat of your hands.)

or trying to roll a giant ball of snow (like the bottom part of a snow-man) until it is a couple hundred pounds and trying to push that though leg deep snow. The log on the back is great though, you want to drop it a lot but you need to tell yourself that getting smashed by a heavy-weight would feel worse.

we get pretty insane winters here, that last for months and months and months. Half my year is spent training like that. Hell it was snowing today during roadwork.

You start to become comfortable with intense physical output. I guess it comes down to how much you consider general physical preparedness to be important.

lol… You must’ve loved Rocky IV

That’s where I got the idea. hahaha. Hell I can’t even say if that log thing translates well, but it’s painful on the back after awhile, on the entire body, becomes a huge struggle not to drop it. kind of like how a farmer’s walk makes your fore-arms feel, except across your entire back and part of the arms. sort of psychological challenge as well as a physical one.

I liked when you said the log splitting wont hurt your elbow.
that is some serious insight to body mechanics there.
none of the bro-science these other queer put forth

but by all means keep this going
liking the direction of this thread

don’t let these super haters get you down.

I know the lack of daylight during those long winters
of months and months
can really fire up the dimentia-
but stave that all off with some good ass rugged training.
and general lack of hygene.

keep up the solid work.

Awwww shit son, I think I feel the need for KMC’s log to come back on in…

This is fantastic. Saw the vid a couple of days ago and don’t want to post 'cause I had nothing nice to say, but now I realize the guy’s a troll and it wouldn’t have mattered. Some seriously funny stuff in here.

If I ever get into a professional bout. I’m going to fight under the moniker; “The Troll”

I just hope this thread doesn’t die, it makes my day more shiny!

Here is a good article on the subject of sledge training on bb.com (associated benefits). I have an 11minute sledge hammer workout uploading to youtube, give you guys an idea of what I’m talking about. some good old 20pound vest and 12pound hammer conditioning. some 1 arm swings near the end on the 8-10pounders.

hope it turns out okay. (I should say 11 minutes of a sledge routine. just showing some of the swings and etc) I usually go for about 1-2 hours these days plus some time on the maul to split wood.) but the video is like 1.5 gigs and takes half a day to upload as it is. so.

Another video i’ll upload after that of a higher speed hammer workout. Maybe some of you fighters might check it out if you don’t use one already, it’ll make a big difference. No matter how much I personally suck, this is true.

Also, even as a striker, there’s always the chance you get grabbed outside the ring. the sledge helps with the back strength to perform hip throws, using the other person’s arm as a lever, and using the powerful back muscles the sledge builds up allows you to slam people pretty hard.

There is NO WAY this is legit. The guy with maybe the most uncoordinated and unathletic looking “jab” in recorded history is telling people to master the sledge to become a better striker? Again, this cannot be real.

Sure.

Try it for yourself and tell me that the sledge-hammer training didn’t help. That’s all I’m suggesting. I could be lying in a hospital bed, unable to walk, and I’d still be right about the sledge-hammer training improving a fighter over-all.

I am not saying replace anything for it, just include it.

Irish,

I hate to break this to you, but this guy is pretty much your muse.

The acerbic wit you normally just throw around so easily has been kind of absent in some of your posts lately. He shows up and you pen perhaps the best rant/comedy post I have read this year.

Muse.

Robert A

Haha, yeah. But, I honestly can’t tell if he’s a really skilled troll or he’s just some poor delusional rube who really thinks he’s gonna be crackin’ dudes like a young Dempsey as soon as he finds his way out of the sticks. Either way this is pretty great.

i have no idea about what you are talking about, but i’m downloading the first episode because of the sympathy and energy devoted on that message.
