Some Cool Videos I've Come Across

Enjoy!

Tom Platz squatting 500 lbs for 23 reps…while smiling!

Bertil Fox doing a sick drop set bench press with what I think is either 595 or 505. The vid is so awful I can’t tell whether there are 2 or 3 45’s on each side at the end. I believe the stripped plates are 35’s.

None other than Ronnie C squatting 800 lbs. I think he could have squeezed out a few more.

Ronnie C at it again with 200 lbs bells for an easy 12 reps.

Ryan Kennely popping off 20 reps with only 405 lbs…

Ryan Kennely benching a mind blowing 1036 lbs!

Excellent compilation man!

Updated kennelly bench press 1050 pounds, what a monster

wow…amazing. interesting how with his chest/rib cage being so big and taking such a wide grip, his range of motion is probably about 10-12 inches

Before I get flamed for saying this let me defend myself:

A. These guys are still monstrously strong and deserve all and maybe more than the credit they get.
B. I do NOT consider it a form of “cheating” or “cheapening” the lift.

However, it is my personal taste, that I like watching guys lift big numbers without suits/shirts. I’m not taking ANYTHING away from their lifts. I just like it better when its just them and the bar, no bench shirts or v-types etc.

Just my opinion, again, they still deserve all their credit. Just a preference.

To me those BP shirts are silly… It’s like a swimming competition with paddles on your hands or something, but what ever.

That first one of Tom Platz is so sick though.

I also prefer watching the unequipped videos, as I have no frame of reference for equipped lifting having never done it, or known anyone who does. Not to criticise the equipped lifters though.

Me too, but i’d put money that kennelly would still have the largest unequipped bench if he competed in it.

I wouldn’t be surprised. I’m just a fan of raw lifting.

was he using a mouthpiece and if so, what for?

I love this one, Taranenko performing the heaviest clean and jerk to date;

Also, Americans can’t pronounce Canberra.

Talk about trampoline bounce benching.

Dude, you try and push that weight without any bounce. And by the way I don’t think he’s bouncing all that much, I’ve seen alot worse…he’s got a big chest and is trying to exploding. And he could never finish a drop set with that kind of weight if you let all the force absorb. You’d run out of breath.

Tom Platz is nutz

yea bertil wasn’t bouncing that badly at all. here’s some pretty serious bounce for ya by tank abbott. but none the less that’s a hell of a lot of weight regardless…

Jeremy Hoornstra benching incline 605x1, flat 675x1 raw.

Damn. now THAT’s bounce. I give credit to him just for being able to bounce that much weight.

I’m all about form which is why i thought bertil was bouncing much until i saw Tank. that’s insane.

lol…yup i think his rib cage depressed about 6 inches on that one but he’s got so much blubber he probably didn’t even notice

It’s not unheard of for guys to drop the bar while they’re pressing back towards the face.

I imagine if you dropped 300 pounds on your face you’d be spitting teeth, let alone a thousand.
