When you say “moderately high volume” and “high frequency”, what exactly do you mean?

Something like 5x10, 3x a week?

For the goals of lat size/training like a BBer. Well, lats and lower traps and, you know what I mean.[/quote]

Yeah, that would work. I was doing 5x8-10 twice a week and 2 lighter days of like 3x10-12 or something like that. Don’t remember the exact scheme I was using back in the fall, but with that kind of high frequency you have to be smart and listen to your body. There were some stretches where I had 3 moderate intensity and 1 light intensity days. At other times, I would feel my recovery being affected and do nothing but light days.

Right now I’m following a pretty standard BB split I made, so back has its own day once a week and I just go hard on that body part. Seems to work too, though my lats saw the fastest progress with the high frequency approach.

Just finished the 7x5 with 165. Fairly easy back felt good. Belted up for the last 5 sets

Yup. Did the 10x3 and I’m done with this shit. At least now I know.

Insert “I told you so” here ________________

Seems like you made it to the same point I did. First week feels tough, then the second week is just dumb.
