Smolov Experiment

Man I hate 4x9 days. Workout went ok hit all reps, pretty tough. Got a foot of snow that I had to help shovel for a few hours / another recovery day from boozing. Body weight is up 7 lbs from last week. Going to try not to vomit now.

Might be doing the intense phase after this as the only thing stopping me would be starting the rugby season. I might miss this season though as the Orthopedic said I have a partially torn labrum. Getting an MRI 1/02 to find out for sure. Not the news I was looking for at all.

Not sure what happened to the second page of this thread… but anyway finished second workout of week 2 today. Went well hit all reps/sets. One interesting thing is despite having the toughest workout (4x9 180) 2 days ago, my legs were not sore at all today. Will post some videos from today at some point.

Good work, bro. Sorry to hear about the season. It sucks when you can’t get out there and dominate the other team with your mates. Being a spectator was always the hardest part for me. Hell, it’s still hard.

ohh that sucks
I had surgery on my left shoulder’s labrum on Wednesday, it sucks but at least you get some killer pain meds.

Expect to be out a while.

7x5 200lbs went well tonight. Left hip has been tight for most workouts this week. Form started breaking down (leaning forward), legs felt good though.

Missed 10x3 last week, christmas eve shenanigans with my brother… was out of town for 2 days, did 4x9 190 today. Glad to be done with that for awhile heh. Small setback in missing a w/o and couple days off but will finish out strong.

I remember shenanigans from when I was a wee lad…I ended up at a anytime fitness joint on christmas eve with a couple of old foggies on the treadmills.

Week 3 Workout 2: 5x7 200lbs Complete. First 3 sets were fairly easy. Disturbed definitely helped me get through this. MP3 player messed up before 4th set and that set was extremely hard. Last set was a lot easier with mp3 working again.

Tough session, i limped down stairs trying not to vomit and of course, fried chicken from scratch etc. was ready for me to eat haha.

Yeah that was my last 4x9 and today was the last 5x7. Now time for more shenanigans…

Week 3 Workout 3 7x5 210

Went well. Sets 4-7 were difficult but felt very good. Legs feel relatively fine after. BW Pre workout was 195 which is up 8-10 lbs since I started.

A note; The only supplement i’ve been using really is Surge, atleast constantly. Diet has been somewhat inconsistent and drinking has been fairly consistent. Nearing the end and i’ve had very little soreness, and great recovery throughout the smolov cycle. Double dosing Surge = awesome.
