Thanks for all the replies!
Here are a few pics from today. Flat as a pancake. I’m just about there in terms of conditioning. [/quote]
Wow! Even carb depleted you look awesome! Looking much bigger at this leaner weight than even the last set of pics you posted. Best of luck in your show! : )
Looking really good man, very nice physique. Good luck at the show!
WUT?
Just stumbled on this thread and there’s someone like this in San Diego?! Freaking awesome.
Hell of a transformation brother. Can’t wait to see pics with you carbed up and fake-tanned! Give us an update when ever you can. People need to see your ‘starting’ pics next to your contest ones. That is what smart training, hard work, and consistency despite life’s demands, can do!
Tear it up tomorrow!

It would be great to hear about your history of leg training. I walk on toothpicks.
You look gnarly by the way. Clean house at the Excalibur.
Looking solid Sloh. Good luck today, tear it up.
Hey guys,
It was a tough tough show. I’m not sure how I placed but it was definitely out of the top 5 out of 9 in my class. I think the posing really got me and with over 300 competitors at this contest, they moved through the mandatories much quicker than I thought. I also could have been leaner and of course bigger. I had some other coaches tell me that I flattened out big time for the show and looked worse than my latest progress pictures. I wasn’t told to start carbing up on high GI carbs until after the weighins on the day of the show at 8 AM and it was only on high GI carbs.
I’ll take it for what it’s worth, but after some thorough research, I feel I will jive much better with Jason in my corner in the future. I weighed in around 151 and still feel like I could have been harder. With my height and structure, I think a contest 165 would be much better for me, preferably sucked down 165 from a 170.
My plans right now are to actually take a couple years off, maybe 2 or 3 until I decide to step on stage again. I’m going to work with Jason Theobald and we are going to ensure I make the necessary improvements before stepping on stage again. Jason’s all about quality size, so we will likely go into a full year of offseason, and diet down when necessary even with no contest.
Actually, I’m not sure if I will step on stage again. I really love this sport, the bulking up and dieting down. I even love following other competitors who step on stage but I question if the stage presence is for me. If that doesn’t make me a bodybuilder, that’s fine too but I do enjoy everything that goes into this.
My main goals right now are mass everywhere a lot more in the back. I will be sure to update this thread as I continue to track along this endless but very fun journey. I had some pretty good food last night, but I’m back on my new offseason diet with Jason today. Here’s a shot from yesterday. The top 3 or 4 in my class were amazing. Even the bantams at this show were amazing!!
This is one of the top guys in my class yesterday. 5’4 and a very shredded 154. I believe he’s been competing for many years now and is over 40 yrs old.
Nice Job Man! Sorry to hear the show didn’t go how you would of liked but it still takes a lot of balls to get on stage in the first place. Good luck in the future.
Yeah man, even though it didn’t pan out the way you had hoped, it’s still must feel pretty good to have all your hard work on display and appreciated.
But seriously, need more competition pics!
Your legs look really built there dude, I’m sure you’ll look sick at a contest 165.

And anyone who didn’t consider you a bodybuilder would be a fucking moron. Sounds like you have a great plan for the forseeable future. Best of luck in your future bodybuilding endeavors.
Very Nice job Sloh. I shat a brick when I saw that photo you posted… Then I realized i wasnt you! No reason you couldnt look like that one day I dont think, another 15-20 pounds in all the right areas.
I think an extended off season would be great for you as you obviously have the dedication to stick with this for the long term, and dieting every year could be better spend gaining if you can stay the course with diet/cardio.
Keep us posted.
P.S - You are a body builder.

You’re not the only one there, man…
Good job btw, on to 270 lbs ![]()
I competed from 18 yrs old to 27 yrs old with at least 2 shows every year, and if I could do it all over, I would have spent more time getting bigger and not competing so often. You have a good frame, the drive, and you ENJOY bodybuilding, don’t make the mistake of judging yourself or future in BB by your first contest. Have fun, learn, and grow.

I have seen a lot of people like this lately. It is like you see a number of guys who look to be in GREAT shape over 40 and then a few just getting into it. That whole generation in the middle though got fucked as far as that “25-30” crowd. I see very few guys who are in their mid-20’s who are serious.
I will also say that the idea that your body falls apart at 40 is a long gone myth.
Most of them seem to look even better at that age assuming they have been at this for several years.

Like I said, I wish you posted more often.
