Thanks, I came up with the design with a strongman friend of mine, I liked it so much I built one for myself.

Wow, I’m impressed.
(shuffles back to making abandoned tire scrap wood sled)
Ingredients:
1 old (preferably broken wheelbarrow).
1 bag concrete
1 2" diameter steel fence post (cut to desired length)
Directions:
Remove wheel and wood from the pan of the wheelbarrow. Invert bolts so that the smooth head will be against the ground and threaded shaft is sticking into the pan. Mix concrete and pour it into the pan. Place fence post in the concrete. Allow concrete to cure. Drill hole in front of your new sled and attach chain/harness.
Divide into large helpings of pain.
Bon appetit!
whats the point of the bolts?
i’m confused as to how to tie chain/harness into anything metallic/rubber via drilling- all you get is a hole.
The point of the bolts is to keep the concrete in the pan when you pour it in (because of the holes from the attached hardware).
A heavy duty spring clip (like this: http://www.bosunsupplies.com/products2.cfm?product=S0195 ) through the hole in the sled provides a nice hole to chain interface.
It’s not a particularly nice sled, but when dragging it through the loose dirt of my backyard with two 40 # dumbbells and my 1 year old son in it and my 3 year old daughter on my shoulders, it works okay.
I wish I had a nice welding shop so I could put together something like those sleds upthread. Those are sweet.

For the harness, does rope take a toll on your midsection when dragging heavy? I’m referring to the pressure on the core because of the small area seems to cut the body into 2 ![]()
