Skinny Fat With Pics (Awful I Know)

Thanks for reply, yea I’m just pigin out now. Got 3000+ cals done done today. Cereals like kashi and granola mixes are really calorie dense and don’t make me full. Would they be a clean food, the only bad thing I see from it is tha amt of sugar 12+ grams, about 10g prot, 6g fiber, 5 g fat(good), 30 carbs(wheat or oats only) = around 200 cal per 1/2 cup? Thanks[/quote]

If you truly got in that much food today, then good job. I personally wouldn’t rely on cereal for carb iuntake, but it isn’t like you need to be that choosy. Make sure you are getting enough protein and continue focusing on overall daily caloric intake. Watch the scale and make adjustments. If your weight isn’t going up at all, then you know what you need to do…I hope.

No way in hell.

Like everyone else has said, he has poorly developed ab muscles but has virtually no fat anywhere in his body. If you were to touch his abdomen, I bet you’d see that it has almost no thickness. I know because my abdomen is the same way as his. I’m sure you’d call me “skinny fat” even though I have 6% bf.

Thanks
I eat about 2-3 servings (400-500) now a day, it tastes great. Are you saying not to rely on it b/c of the sugar, other than that I don’t see what’s wrong with it? They are made from 100% whole grain/wheat/oats.

I think you’d be better off getting your carbs from oatmeal, fruit, Rice,Potatoes,Whole Wheat bread. You should be eating a ton and don’t be afraid of tossing in some junk food here and there. Don’t be afraid to differ from the chicken breasts and spinach that seems to be all thats toted on these boards as healthy foods. Red meat is good. Eat alot of it. Make sure your also getting some healthy fats. The main thing is just eat.

Unless I’m a strict cut, which is very rarely(I’m far more impressed by 6’ 260 with 22 inch arms than I am 6’ 215 with a six pack, just my personal preference on how I’d like to look)
I think your going to be real suprised on how your body comp will change with proper food.

I agree. He’s 6’ and has nice muscle definition despite being extremely thin. He’s got great potential. I’m full grown at 5’5" and I wish I had his potential. But I’ll make the most out of what nature gave me.

Along with that, it isn’t that cereal is “bad”, it is more that you would ahve to eat half a box just to get a decent amount of calories. At this point, one box of cereal for me would be a meal in itself.

BTW, if you want to figure out whether it’s fat or poorly developed muscle in your abdomen and you don’t want to get your %bf measured, the next best thing is to see what happens if you flex and tighten your ab muscles. Don’t suck in; just tighten them. If your abdomen goes from bulging out to completely (or almost) flat like mine does, you probably have poorly developed inner ab muscles. You can’t flex fat and make it look a lot better but you can flex poorly developed muscles and make them look much better.

Thanks
The stomach…I think it’s just alot of loose skin and some fat, so whatever the only way I can get rid of that is bulk for a while.

The cereal…yea I just eat very cal. dense cereal so if it has 13g sugar pers serving and your saying the only reason it could be bad is b/c not enough caloires…well I’ll just eat more, lol, the granola cereal tastes like candy to me!

Yeah, as someone posted earlier. I think we need an anorexia forum here on T-Nation.

I think this picture progression clearly shows the results of CR.

This fellow went from having muscle mass to bone only. He seems to think he will love longer this way.

That web site is sad. Why is it the people who seem to actually live the longest are the people who did the exact opposite of what that guy is recommending? My great aunt died at 114 years of age. She smoked. She didn’t restrict calories even though she wasn’t overweight. I think what helped her live so long is most describe her easy going. The guy weighs 120lbs now. When do we get to see all of these people weighing 100lbs but living to be over 100 years of age?

I would rather live a full life than an extremely long one. After everyone you know is dead, waiting for the inevitable must be a bitch.

I mean really. I weighed 127 at 5 foot 10. Im now 183 at 5 foot 10. with the SAME body fat. Even if it wasnt the same body fat it doesnt matter. Prof X and some other guy have it down and its such a simple idea. You need to EAT dont worry about being clean. “should i eat this 265 calorie meal or the 267 calorie meal” EAT THEM BOTH. you see u can get rid of fat later. Your diet should consist of one thing. Eating a shizit load of food. 4000 plus cals a day. and thats all will u put on fat? who knows, but frankly who cares… cause u can get rid of it later.

So in a nut shell. EAT FOOD anything
dont do cardio hell buy a scooter so u dont expend any calories. Shesh i have nothing else to say. Some people on here are just crazy… worry about love handles …

Geez, man, this is ridiculous. You know, I used to be a ripped-up dude, but I didn’t let any concerns about fat gain stop me from bulking. If you put on more muscle, any fat you do have is going to be less noticeable. Just eat plenty and lift heavy and regularly. The rest should pretty much fall into place as far as your goals go.

Hellllo There.

Ok so I used to be the very definition of skinny fat. After learning everything I could learn which took me about 6 years of doing everything completely wrong, I finally have a decent grasp on how to overcome my goals. I went from what you are now to 195lbs at 12% body fat. Not too bad considering i’m 5’11" and I started out looking like crap. (No offence). So, What to do? Well first off, you probably have Gynocomastia, so don’t focus on reducing your “breast” size because unless you consume copious amounts of Letrozole or something, you’re likely never to get rid of it without surgery. Just focus on stressing your muscles and building your body. Eat according to the guidelines in Berardi articles scattered throughout this very website, load up on supplements (useful ones) which can also be found on this website, and for goodness sakes workout like a sonovabitch.

My best tip short of training you myself, would be simply this: Don’t focus on pushing or pulling weight. Focus on stressing the muscle the movement is intended to stress. Believe me it makes all the difference in the end. Biomechanics are key. That’s my 2 cents!

Cheers.

Apparently his wife is not happy with his lifestyle. She doesnt like him being skinny. Unsurprisingly his sex life isnt going too well due to low T levels. His mood is consistenly even, but his wife reckons it is creepy flat. She was sick of him dirtying the kitchen from constantly preparing massive salads, leaving little bits of his hydroponically grown alfalfa around. He solved the problem by putting a little kitchenette next to the hydroponic growroom in the basement. His life sucks…

I was walking down his path (slightly differently tho) at one stage with food prep etc. I read all the FFB articles and decided i would be stuck on ‘clean’ eating for the rest of my life. Now, I dropped a lot of weight doing that and gave myself a good start. But now I am eating… lots- and it isnt all clean either, surprisingly enough I havent blimped out like Kirsty Allie, I eat like everyone else… with a little more emphasis on protein. I have certainly put on fat, I dont give a shit tho… I get laid still, moreso in fact then when I’m spending all my time prepping food instead of chasing skirts.

To the OP… hopefully on your diet you learned a lot about food. This knowledge will stay with you. Stop counting your calories and vitamins now. Just stop. Eat until you are full. Eat again a few hours later. Eat whatever tastes good.

Look at the photo progression on that link. Look where his abs went. They disappeared. I doubt whether you are an FFB. Im starting to doubt whether FFBs exist. Ive gone from 231 to 178 at 5’10… I fit the profile of an FFB far more clearly than many people on this site. You can find my initial thread on it if you want. Now relax and eat and put on some muscle (and fat).

If you call yourself an FFB, then you will be one.

This guy is showing NO signs of gyno whatsoever.

Hey bob, I’m 15 years old and I have the same body type as you do (without the “man tits”). I just started working out at home a few days ago and am excited to see results. Good luck to you.

i def. don’t have gyno, got it checked out, it’s just where I tend to collect fat. Still eating as always.

Good deal. Keep it up. Post back in 20lbs.

I used to have the same exact body type as you do in those pics.

I spent years dieting, trying to lose the fat off my chest and mid-section. Then one day, I said fuck it and I got a gym membership, starting reading T-Nation, and started to bulk. Like crazy.

Now I went a little overboar don the bulk and gained a little too much fat, but I also gained a good amount of muscle mass.

This bulk ended about 4 months ago. Since then, I did some strict cutting but mostly I just eat right and sensibly. I stripped away all the extra fat I had gained and a ton extra…and Lo and Behold, my body is a completely different shape.

Now, instead of a girly hour-glass shape, I’ve got a V-shaped torso. My pecs are impressive instead of pathetic. And I did this by bulking, then cutting, not by cutting form an already sickly, deprived state.

Do this, and you will see a huge change.

Good Luck

its also a lot easier to lose fat once you have muscle because havign muscle increases metabolism making it easier to lose weight. plus if you have alot of muscle losign a little bit when you cut isn’t a big deal. this isnt going to an overnight thing so you have to accutally want it. i plan on bulking starting next week till around march dependign wehre i am at. just bulk then cut for next summer. everyone looks fat in a jacket.
