Don’t expect to do any less. Just do your best, and the results will come.

That’s great you saw results so quickly. However, I think most people need to back off a bit on trying to get super fast results and just focus on consistency with basic proper diet and exercise in the right direction. It’s very easy to overload starters with too much and have them burn out of the process after 3 weeks. It has happened to me in the past and I’ve seen it happen at the beginning of every new year.

I think our friend needs to think longer term. The skinny-fat guy is simply a result of consistent poor health habits. Losing the gut permanently will take a lifestyle change, breaking old bad habits and replacing them with newer and better habits. I suggest we try and keep it simple so he can build upon those habits without burning out trying to do too much at one time, or expecting too much too soon.

But it is simple. So simple that anyone can change completely their eating and training habits in less than a month.

This is the sort of thinking that gets people to give up: To say that it’s hard to change.

It’s not hard. It’s easy to change eating patterns. It’s actually the easiest part of the day. It doesn’t compare to going to the gym working out so intensely that your heart keeps pounding hard for minutes after you leave the gym.

If anyone has the will to change, and loosing 40 pounds in a year qualifies to me as a big change, this person has the ability to fine-tune the rest of his workout/dieting habits easily.

Don’t tell anyone that it’s hard, it just takes consistency, and consistency does not equal hard.
