Sunday afternoon burpee session today.
100 x 1 pump burpees. Every 5th rep did a 5 pump and every 10th rep did a 10 pump. Total 100 burpees and 230 push ups. Worked up a crazy chest pump.

Good shoulder pump, feeling huge after these. Lol ! Three solid sets of 10. More weight in next session.
Bench press
90 x 12 x 3 sets - (198 lbs) 12, 12, 11
So close to getting all the reps. Great chest burn and pump.
Bent over row
80 x 15 x 2 sets - (176 lbs)
No straps for these. Puffing hard after these. A little dizzy.
Standing curl
40 x 10 x 2 sets (88 lbs)
These still feed awkward.

That is a deff rep PR for me. Those breathing squats are hard ! In my head because I did 15 normal reps with this weight on Friday I thought I would be OK. But the extra time between reps breathing makes it a long long set. Lower back was all sorts of sore for the last 8 reps.

Here is the first set of breathing squats. I have no idea if this is how they are supposed to look. They are tough !
Hey Simo! Great work on your first session of Super Squats!! I’m so excited to follow along.
As for the breathing squats, don’t hold in your air as you’re ascending once you reach parallel because 1. You could pass out 2. Not holding in your air makes it kinda harder
As you ascend from the bottom position you’re supposed to blast out the air at the same time.
Good pick up mate. I did read that but years of holding a brace for powerlifting is a hard habit to break. I will focus on that in the next session.

It really does feel like I have gone back to my 20’s. But I should have realised that a hypertrophy program would be like bodybuilding because they are the guys with all the muscle.
Hey simo just out curiosity, how do powerlifters get stronger staying at the same weight?
Some will be due to increased muscle mass through body recomp. The rest is essentially strength gained through getting better at the movement. I think the fancy term is nuromuscular adaption.
Don’t forget increasingly intense weight-cuts to make their weight class as they grow bigger over time.
