Legs today

  • 10 minutes elliptical
  1. Seated Leg Curls
Lot of low rep warm-up sets
    100/10
    100/10 + 70/12 + 55/15 + 15s hold

  2. Squat
    45/5 x 2
    135/5 x 2
    225/4
    275/8
    315/8
Did these to a box, but not real box squats. I use it more as a cue to not bounce out of the bottom more than anything, so I don’t sit back into it but I pause for a beat with my hamstrings/ butt touching it.

  3. Leg Press
    3pps/5
    4pps/30
    5pps/20
    6pps/10
    These were awful

  4. Walking Lunges
    30# sandbag x what I’m guessing is 30m x 2 sets

  5. Good Morning
    135/10 x 3

  6. Calf Machine
    150/10 + 10 partials + 10s stretch
    170/10 + 10 partials + 10s stretch x 2

They’re fun!

I have not been appropriately taking care of my recovery outside the gym, and it caught up this morning.

  • 10 minutes of some kind of crazy elliptical that’s half stairmaster
  1. DB Incline
    30/15
    50/8

Sooooo I wasn’t supposed to, but I went ahead and started Unity @aldebaran! I had a couple reasons:

  1. I wanted to
  2. After today, I only had two “pump” days left anyway and those are boring
  3. Today was leg day, anyway, and that’s day one of the new one
  4. Nobody keeps TfP in the corner

DE Legs!

  • WU Circuit - 3 rounds of:
    6 hanging leg raises
    15 sec. plank

    65/8
    90/6
    110/8 + 85/8 + 10 partials

Then every rack was in use so did a whole bunch of crunches while waiting

    225/2 x 10 sets

10 sets of 2? Sounds Optimal!

It was so optimal it probably deserves its own inflammatory YouTube video telling you why everyone else is dumb and on drugs

I think that won the internet, at least for today.

I don’t have any goals. I figure as long as I’m in the gym every day, it doesn’t really matter what I’m doing.
Basically, I’m a YouTube champ without a YouTube channel!

I love it! As a fellow non-monster, I find myself happy to stay the same. Many will say that’s bad, but if I can maintain what I have while adding life demands then that’s its own sort of progression.

Maintenance requires progressing when you’re over 30; the default is to regress!

I don’t want to be the T-Nation wuss or anything. I just like pushing hard while I’m doing it, so I just kind of do whatever floats my boat.

This is my view on the subject as well. It seems like I’m always fighting to get back to old PRs… and those aren’t even impressive.
