Well, crap, now I have to. I was probably (purposefully) not paying attention to that part. What kind of stuff should I be doing?
Two days in and it’s a nice change of pace. I’m soaked by the end of each, but upper body is maybe half as hard as lower. The test will be in 3 weeks or so when it’s a grind and I’m annoyed
We’ll see how the running goes! I’d like to feel confident doing it again, and I don’t like inventing goofy cardio movements.
10 minutes running on treadmill at 1 incline. Only got a mile. This is sad because I used to run a mile in 5 minutes (I mean, it’s been a couple decades)
Main:
5 Vertical Jumps
Front Squat
45/8
135/5
225/5
275/2 What in the freaking hell. I took too big of jumps and didn’t get my breathing right after the jumps - I was all over the damn place on these. I intended to end at 295/5 for a decent day or 315 for a great day. Oh well.*
5 Hanging Leg Raises
30 Mountain Climbers Thanks a lot for pointing this out, @alex_uk…
Volume:
5 Vertical Jumps
Front Squat
185/10 x 3
5 Hanging Leg Raises
30 Mountain Climbers
Assistance:
BB Lunge:
45/6 x 3
GM
45/8
95/8 x 2
DB Goblet Squat
65/8
75/8 x 2 Almost skipped this, but I could hear @alex_uk’s evil laugh as his plan came to fruition: “hahaha! I knew he couldn’t do the assistance if he did all the conditioning!” Wrong again, liberal media!
Haha that made me laugh. cardio for me is probably way lazier than Brian’s but burpees, burpee chin ups, banded jumping jacks and bandy twisty things.
Your cardio section looks harder than mine again, stop making me look bad!
Weirdly enough your front squat session looked similar to mine, it’s the only time I’ve been disappointed with the session (it’s the only one I’ve not finished but that was outside of my control) - it’s a sign front squats should be banned.
I only hit 120/264 for a single that day and was hoping for 140/308.
I think maybe front squats are most affected by our panicked breathing. I couldn’t keep my ribcage down, and then I was just absolutely dumping the bar forward. It will come around next week and I’ll try to be more deliberate and see what happens.
For sure. For now, I’m just going to do some kind of “run” (with me, we use the term sarcastically) for 10 minutes and we’ll see how the distance or output or whatever improves in the time frame.
Your clean is ridiculous, though, and you have to travel about a mile and a half on the front squats. I did a 300 x 7 front squat during the quarantine, which I’m pretty sure is my best. Next week should be better. The setup of these giant sets impacts some lifts (i.e. lower body) more than others.
I would like to say I only hit a single at 120kg which is 264, so I’m not a jerk… Just weak! (I was interrupted on that front squat and was looking for something a bit bigger).
300 X 7 is impressive, something to aim for (well 300 x 8) although I hate front squats and will probably pass out before I get close!
10 minutes on the treadmill again at a 6.0 pace. I let the machine roll through “hills” on its program.
Main:

185/3 Held each rep for a couple “Drago!”s at the top, because I tend to cheat the lockout when I get sloppy.

Yesterday I took my daughter swimming with dolphins - was great. They asked if they could use my pictures in brochures, but then wouldn’t give me a significant discount on the pictures if I said “yes”. Um, no.
Anyway, I’m going to have to do some consecutive days this week because of scheduling. If weights get light, I’m going to not bitch at myself.
Just coming back to this, because I like to see you suffer alongside me… It isn’t just 10 mins for time, Brian’s quite specific that it’s supposed to leave you gasping for air and hating life. (1.3 miles in 10 minutes does that to me… Oh dear)
Haha yea it is, but it’s only 10 minutes and it doesn’t have to be running (in fact I don’t think he would particularly suggest running) his conditioning is a little more insane than mundane!
