Did really well today, but I also cheated and ate two meals beforehand, so… who knows. I’ll just keep managing calories each day I guess. I’m wishy-washy on this whole diet thing. I am holding my weight relatively well these days, so maybe I can impress a mom or two at the pool - which is my life’s goal.

Had more in me, but this isn’t a real comfortable movement for me yet
Honestly, I have no idea. I could absolutely care less what anyone thinks of me, and I bring my laptop to the pool to work 90% of the time so I don’t want to talk to anyone, so who knows? I do want to “win” the dad bod competition nobody else knows they’re in, though.
I’ve got three weeks left of this Meadows program. My mind is already starting to wander to what to do next. I always end up coming back to his stuff, but maybe I’ll take a Thibaudeau program for a spin. I like how much movement there is in his stuff, and I think there’s a lot of room to use all the outside implements my gym has, so that would be fun for the summer. I’m always too smoked when doing the Meadows stuff to do anything other than “bodybuilder” cardio.
I didn’t feel like doing what was written down this morning, so I did some cardio and some circuits - which I also didn’t particularly enjoy, ha! I don’t think there is anything I really don’t like about supersets/ circuits and stuff; it’s just a little stressful to try and set up in a gym other people actually use. There’s definitely ways to do it with planning, though.
I’ve been doing the IF consistently except for one day where I ate an hour or two early for a couple weeks. I’m not getting this great relief from it - I think it’s actually making me think more about food. I’ll give her another little bit and we’ll see.
On the flip side, so I’m not all negative, I’m enjoying using the outside stuff at my gym. I don’t know how much of my time should be spent doing the “programmed” stuff and how much should just be whatever I want before I find myself spinning my wheels, but I do need to find more time for the stuff I feel like doing. I can’t spend two hours in the gym every day, so it has to be a take stuff out approach.
I find myself thinking about my goals and before long I have like 5-7 workouts to hit each thing. Unfortunately, I don’t want to train that many times per week and having 10-14 days between the same session seems too spread out…
That’s typically why I just grind through programs - I do myself no favors by thinking. On the other hand, then it’s just a grind and certainly doesn’t satisfy my every itch.
Careful. You’re in danger of creating your own program.
I really like the idea of CrossFit style workouts. I’ve found a couple people who train that way but it’s lacking the deadlift goals I have and include stuff I hate. I’m hopeful that I can get into that style someday.
The cure for this is a posed selfie. Post it online, if people say, hey you look great it will inspire you to keep going. If they say, do you even lift bro? It will piss you off amd make you work harder. Win/win either way… lol
