You know it baby.

I feel the need to point out that I am NOT the one who brought the smut to this log.

Taking you out of the running for universal favorite.

I like the direction this log has taken.

Thanks! All somewhat self-inflicted, you know? If I don’t feel like I have folks/ strategies in place that can deal with stuff, well whose fault is that? Life will continue to improve.

No brisket this time, unfortunately; we didn’t leave the airport/ hotel. Seriously, though, how cool is it that we can take for granted treating half the US as a daily commute?

Hurtful.

I’ll tell you the same thing I told @simo74 . Once that invitation is out there, you can’t take it back.

It’s like I’m begging to be uncomfortable. Raising a daughter prepared me for this.

Well I can certainly deliver awkward. How do you feel about that? :joy:

I don’t think it did…

Really quick back workout today - first one in a week. I’m still not feeling great; that bout of flu or whatever knocked me out. I’m not recovering from illness as easily as I did when I was young!

I tried the Jefferson curls @Frank_C. I’ll keep those in daily; I think it’s going to take a little practice for me to even start flexing segments vs hinging.

Then it was a quick rush home before the family got up because my baby girl is officially a teenager! Her volleyball tournament got canceled for all the snow we’re supposed to have, so we get to hang out more this weekend (I’m very happy about that).

Just treat each rep like a stretch and let the weight pull you down a little further each time. They have me hold it for about 3 seconds at the bottom on each one at PT.

Same here. I think the total snowfall is going to be a bit less than they predicted but not complaining about having a free weekend for a change!

I’ve just added these too. I did them today and realized how much I have to concentrate on rolling down and back up rather than hinging. Soon as I stop paying attention, I’m hinging again. Lol.

Enjoy it! Tomorrow you will be looking at colleges.

It’s the absolute best!

It is the best! We had a great day. She had a couple of her longtime friends over before the snow started, rather than whichever popular girl of the week she’s trying to suck up to. Then she wanted to play board/ card games all evening and her brother actually joined us without complaints (very rare). Finally, she wanted to lay on the couch and rent one of the Barbie movies she liked when she was little. Just a magical day all around!

This morning I have two teenagers and I’m snowed in; they will be sleeping in the yard.

My boys have been wanting this lately. I can’t believe how much fun we have when it’s just the four of us hanging out around the table talking smack to each other. :joy: I’m so glad you had a great day together. Enjoy the snow day!!

@BethB it’s nice when they actually want to hang out! It always shocks me, but I dont pass it up.

Really solid basement workout today. I brought the SSB I’d bought for a gym home when we changed gyms, and the posts on the bench we have are just high enough for me to load it in there, so everything worked out.

  1. Jefferson Curl
    45/10
@Frank_C I’m getting there! It kind of all happens at the start. I have to unbrace and not push my hips to break the rep, and then it goes.

  2. Stability Ball Leg Curl
3 or 4 sets of 6 or so on each leg, then a set where I went back and forth on each leg with no rest for 3 mini-sets

  3. SSB Squat
I don’t have too much weight and didn’t want to (can’t?) go heavy anyway, so I really focused on staying vertical and being slow on each rep.
    65/8
    115/8
    155/8
    205/8
    245/8

  4. DB BSS
Used the pairs of DBs we have!
    5/10
    8/10
    12/10
    15/10 + 10s + 12/10 + 10s + 8/10 + 10s + 5/10 + 10s
Really light, but I’m on fire, so that exactly met the goal.

  5. RDL
    135/10 x 2

  6. Reverse Crunch
    4 sets

  7. Calves
Did calf raises on one leg on the stairs just back and forth for 4 or 5 “sets” on each leg.

Was this a version of the drop set of death?

While bodyweight can be plenty of weight, you can also do this with knees over toes. It’s good for knee health and can even hit the soleus a bit.

It was indeed. Always horrific. I have to mentally gear up for it no matter what

The worst part is when you finish one leg and realize you have to do it again.
