Is it your birthday?? Happy birthday!
That was yesterday …LOL
Remember I am like Marty McFly. Speaking of which and knowing you love of all things late 80’s - 90’s I introduced my 10 year old boy to this movie last week. Told him it was the best movie ever made. He liked it so much he watched 2 and 3 the day after. He now also tells people that Back to the Future is the best move ever made. LOL
That’s awesome! My son likes Creed but doesn’t like Rocky even though they are the same movies! I think it’s the production value that throws him off the older ones.
Yer some of those older movies really look dated now. My son and I watched Predator and Commando recently and he loves them both.
You’re raising him right. My wife genuinely doesn’t understand why they don’t like old movies she shows them
I am frightened to even ask what moves she shows them. LMAO
Oops, I meant movies… or did I
I had to go back and check my original post!
Old movies suck*, and your son’s view is the definitive, authoritative, and only acceptable view about this issue. You’re obvis doing something right.
*except the very small handful I like
Noooooo! I used to have faith in your opinions!
I was absolutely exhausted yesterday. Not sure what happened (besides, obviously, missing some sleep), but I slept a bunch last night and was as good to go today.
My son and I spent some of the morning playing a ninja turtles video game, which was just fantastic. I swear it’s the same one we played back when we were kids @T3hPwnisher, but on today’s systems. As always, I was Leonardo.
Then I had to sprint through my workout because I had exactly an hour to get it done in time to drop off and pick up my daughter from practice. Those sessions tend to work out best, because I’m dialed in. It helps that this is week 2 and what I was supposed to do was pretty much exactly laid out.
Back!

The front of my shoulder and elbow hurt like hell when I started these. I just moved through really slowly, and by the end of the hang my elbow finally felt better than it has in awhile. I don’t know if my biceps tendon finally finished tearing or just moved off the groove it was sitting in or what, but definite improvement. Tomorrow’a basketball game will tell (it’s my non-shooting arm, but it still swelled after the last game). -

It’s always disillusioning when our heroes disappoint us.
Outstanding!
…not as outstanding, haha. But still: a great time dude!
I did not play well the other night! I was at Kings Island all day with my daughter, so hopefully it was a fluke and not a trend.
Anyway, this morning was arms, calves and abs. Always a good day. Tomorrow will have to be afternoon legs, which is worse than in the morning for some reason. Oh well.
Sorry for the crazy long runs between updates.
We realigned a team under me and pulled in the rest of the globe, which I’m very happy with, but kept me busy last week.
I played pretty well Sunday! I love playing and I’m shocked how fast I’ve gotten back into acceptable playing shape. I’m playing with mostly 20 year olds that played high school ball together just a couple years ago, and I am absolutely holding my own. If I’m high school quality a quarter century later, I’m actually really ok with that. A kid played on Sunday that was D1 talent and carved us up to a point that it was hilarious. Totally cool to play with, but just on another level. My elbow has hurt like hell since then, though, so that’s been an annoying theme the last couple weeks.
Since then, it appears we all have the flu or Covid or something, so I haven’t been in the gym since Sunday. @davemccright i don’t know where I am in the plan, or what I’m doing from here. Keep on keeping on and I’ll drop a note back in here when I lift again - hopefully tomorrow or Thursday if I don’t think I’ll get the world sick.
Praying for you man! Excited to see you back to killing it!
Alright, my babies (except @simo74, the one dinosaur older than me; we’ll see who becomes fuel first… I’m already diesel, so I have a head start).
I got back in the gym this morning and just kind of fluffed around. I did a little of this and a little of that for about 45 minutes. Nothing was crazy hard, but I’m definitely still getting my lungs and strength back a little. I pressed 115 for 3, for example, and was pretty gassed. Tomorrow will be another day and I’m sure I’ll be totally right by next week. I don’t think we play Sunday, because of the holiday weekend, so that’s good timing as well. We have to win our next two to make the playoffs! Huge pressure!
My daughter was sick, so today was her first day back at school Right on cue, my son woke up sick as a dog today, so he’s home with me. We like to do our illnesses in series, vs. parallel; my engineering friends are disgusted with our failure points and inefficiency!
good to hear you are back on the gym mate. Hopefully the effects of your illness wear off soon. i hear you about linear sickness patterns because my house seems to do the same thing. My kids were all sick first and wife has been unwell all this week. Given my post comp deload this week I was sure it would be me next but so far I have been able to avoid it. Another week off from playing and I am sure you will be good to go. Good luck with the final 2 games,

Thanks my good man. Hope you keep avoiding it. This one has lingered.
I went to the gym to get rolling this morning, started warming up, and then had to go throw up a little. So I figured it would not be real considerate to stay, since I’m obviously still carrying a little something. I came home and walked the dog (she’s taking to be an only dog - she likes the extra attention); we’ll see how the next couple days go. I’m not dying or anything, this has just really hung around for quite awhile.
In other news, our school bus drivers are striking. I don’t really invite anyone else’s political opinions, so I won’t go on my own rant, but we’re fortunate that we can do whatever we need to do in terms of getting them to and from during the day. My daughter still rides her bike, anyway, so that one doesn’t even change. My son is still home sick, so we didn’t even have to figure it out today. I’d imagine this is a rest of the semester thing, though.
