I’ve set his thread to watch and notify so t nation gives me a little notification when he posts so I can eye up what a real man lifts :joy:

It’s a great way of keeping track of all the logs I like to.

I do jest. Your posts and personality are one of my favorite combinations on the site.

We had a legit blizzard, by definition! Today’s wind chills are in the negative 30s and the real temperature has been about 10-12 below most of the day; getting close to 0 now. Not a record or anything, but colder than normal for here.

Today’s workout was shoveling the drive and walk. My diet has been primarily cookie-based; I’ll detail the anabolic nature in my upcoming ebook.

I’m not really keen on you having favourites on here if I’m not one of them.

It’s not like I’m jealous of the massive, lean strong man mountain that is @Andrewgen_Receptors

I keep forgetting to do that. I follow logs, and then all the thread title changers just get lost amongst the crowd. If i’m in a rush I just visit whoevers liked my most recent log post to click on those users. I’m a petty man.

Expect a “bell” from me soon a few of you.

You’re definitely on the list!

I never remember to do any of this stuff either. I check in on my phone and usually just look at whatever hit the “top 3” that shows up in each section.

Did some back stuff today, not the gross kind.

It is still not super easy driving around here, but the kids and I made it out to the gym for a couple hours. My daughter wanted to play on the treadmill screens, so we walked on those for half an hour. My son kind of bounced around and joined in and out some of my sets as I got going.

The meat of it was:

  1. Meadows Rows
    25/6
    50/4
    75/10 x 3

  2. One-arm BB Rows
    50/8 x 3

  3. Straight-arm Pulldowns
    3 x 12

  4. Rack Pulls
    135/3
    225/3
    315/3
    365/5 x 3

Had plenty of time today, so I just screwed around in the gym for quite a while.

Started with some curls for @simo74.

Then I did a circuit of TBDL, bench and pull-ups for a few rounds.

Then a brotastic chest workout.

Finished with half an hour of Witcher-watching elliptical.

We’re going to visit my folks for a few days. My end of year picture should be truly atrocious.

The new Witcher series (blood and origin) or the old ones?

If it’s the new one what’s it like?

I’m still wrapping up the original series. I did watch the cartoon prequel, which was cool. I haven’t seen the new bloodline one or whatever it’s called.

Netflix dropped a ton of stuff on me and I haven’t been traveling as much so I haven’t watched it! There’s a new warrior nun season two - the first was ridiculous and entertaining.

Last leg day of the year… ‘Twas a bloodbath.

Started with 10 minutes on the elliptical while Geralt was chopping folks up.

  1. RDLs
I don’t usually start with these, so I tried to really focus on getting my hips back and making these be all hams.
    45/6
    135/6
    225/8
    275/8
    285/8

  2. Leg Press
    2pps/10
    3pps/10
    4pps/10
    5pps/10
    6pps/10
    7pps/10
    8pps/10
    9pps/10
That wore me out. This is the leg press where you can load the first 6 plates on the top peg and it’s a little more quad. I should have started heavier so I didn’t have to do as many.

  3. Squats
A couple warms up with the bar, then:
    135/15 x 3

  4. Walking Lunges
One leg for all steps, then switch and come back.
    10s/ 12 steps per leg x 3 sets

  5. BFR Leg Curls
    4 miserable sets

That was rough! Now to continue fattening up and eventually face the terrifying reality of taking a picture.

How’d you manage to get the BFR bands tight around your thighs? I tried with mine and cannot pull it tight enough to get the BFR effect… a ratchet strap would be more fitting lol.

Happy new year!

Good question. I usually can’t get them right. This time I just got them up really high so on the back it’s sitting in the crease between my badonkadonk and my hammies.

Happy New Year! We’re headed back home from my folks’. I’m so ready to get back on a schedule.

Back in the gym and eating actual meals.
My before pics hurt my own feelings, so we’re starting off by doing some arm work (I joke about doing curls more than I actually do curls).

Today I took Surge Workout Fuel with the arm workout. Overkill and awesome.

Did some legs today.
My squat is all kind of off. I just can’t figure it out lately. I’m trying to slow down and do each rep as its own event… my tendency is to just grab my breath and power through as many as I can, but I’m not feeling automatic enough to do that right now. We’ll just go a little lighter and correct-er? for a bit and see how we do. I know for a fact I’m keeping the bar way too high and trying to stay way too upright. It’s making my knees travel and get cranky way more than I want. I don’t want to try to get real technically efficient, low bar, superstar kind of form, but I need to settle down and find a middle ground.

The dogs got themselves lots of walking today, too!

  1. Squat
    45/10
    135/10
    225/6
    315/1
    335/6
    315/6
    295/8
    295/6

  2. Leg Press
    5pps/12
    6pps/10
    7pps/8
    4pps/20

  3. Leg Extensions
3 sets of 12-15 + holds at the top

  4. GHR
    2 sets of 8

  5. Giant Set (2 rounds):

  • RDL 225/8
  • Seated Leg Curls x 8-ish reps
  • Seated Leg Curls - drop the weight for another 6 or so and some partials
  1. Did the same ab nonsense from yesterday

Another second amendment day.

  1. Superset (3 rounds after warming up):
  • Preacher curl with 5s hold at midpoint on each rep
  • Incline DB curls (2 drops on the last set)
  1. Giant Set (3 rounds):
  • DB hammer curl
  • Alternating DB hammer curl (basically just extending the set)
  • Band curl
    This was pretty brutal!
  1. Machine extension
Worked up to a top set of 6, then backed off for 3 more sets in 6-10 range. Was supposed to finish with drops, but forgot.

  2. OH rope extension (one arm)
One “strip the rack” set all the way down

  3. Giant set (3 rounds):

  • Rope pressdown
  • Rope “skullcrusher”
  • Extensions off a bar in a rack
  1. Ab nonsense
