That’s the beauty of “my truth”: your “proof” is irrelevant

yes but for it to be ‘your’ truth you would need ‘your own proof’, or it is then just your opinion

I feel like you haven’t turned on a television at all in the last 3 years… of course it’s just my opinion, but my opinion is fact, and it’s my truth. If you disagree you’re spreading disinformation, which is dangerous and your words are violence. I don’t see how that could be more clear.

All jokes aside, I now admire you even more. That’s seriously the right thing to do

It started funny, then it got real, and now it’s just scary. Then again…

Odds looking good for the next round.

Edit: in case internet speak lost some sarcasm in translation, everything said in the past few posts has been total satire

I was going to bring that in after your “scoreboard” joke, and didn’t, and now you beat me to it. Fortune favors the bold, it appears.

Oh man, you should see me come fourth of July.

American Flag chubbies, that poster on a shirt, a F&$@ Isis ballcap. We go hard in the paint for that one lol.

That’s absolutely hilarious - love it!

I was in England a long time ago (when our joint war was not going well) and a bar advertised an “American flag” shot, which obviously I ordered. It was liquors layered to look red, clear and blue… all good so far, but then it was served en flambé. Touché, Brits; you win this round.

That’s pretty good, gotta respect the cheekiness of it.

I actually spent 2 days in London with a couple other navy guys on the 4th of July a few years back, had an extended layover flying back from Morocco. We proceeded to get belligerently drunk, talk mad shit about the American revolution to all our new friends at the pub(s), and at one point had a crowd of onlookers laughing at the 3 heavily intoxicated Americans pouring bottled tea from a convenience store into the River Thames while chanting about “no taxation without representation.”

…Which then led to a very awkward conversation with a bemused police officer (who they called Bobby, I thought it was his name for longer than I’m proud to admit) about why we were doing that.

was this in the 1920’s

Lol, 2018, but there is also a VERY significant chance that our newfound friends were messing with us. We were admittedly doing the same lol

Edit: I have also always referred to British police as Bobby’s ever since, which means whoever told us that got 4 solid years of messing with us. Well played.

I guess in polite society are still called bobbies but that is a little old fashioned. I am more used to hearing them referred to as The Pigs, The fuzz, The Rozzers (pretty sure this is from the 1800’s but still popular in some areas), The old Bill, Cops or Coppers.

Well at least I wasn’t completely off base lol. Though given our behavior, I certainly hope we weren’t in “polite society” haha.

Edit: it’s funny how cops, coppers, and pigs are slang in both the US and the UK, but the rest are nowhere near similar one another. Kinda wonder how those developed.

That is an outstanding story

Was this the 1960s??

Ok, so my quick updates:

  • My daughter has had the most brutal flu and I’ve been traveling; I don’t think I’ve slept more than 3 hours a night for well over a week. It’s getting weird, but she’s finally on the mend.

  • My teammate in this new company is an absolute delight. I was worried it would be hard on her for some outsider to come in and start taking and changing things, but she couldn’t be more supportive. I’m very happy with that!

  • My wife freaking loves her job and is leaning on me to recruit area lifters I knew at the old gym a little, which is fun all around.

  • My bloodwork was (minus one thing I’ll hit next), in the words of the doc, “perfect.” I still want to get my LDL down, but I was very, very pleased with the results… especially when you consider the only pharmaceutical intervention was going to a “less” harsh BP medication. I used Biotest Flameout and I-Well and absolutely vouch for them.

  • My testosterone has been below range, but still over 5x better than @T3hPwnisher’s. She said my free test was particularly low, which could contribute to the case of the “mehs” I’ve noticed I’ve been getting lately. I don’t know how interested I am in addressing this right now. Maybe just having “permission” in my own head to lift hard again will take care of it.

  • I don’t know what my training plan is from here yet. I’ll probably keep screwing around a bit. I’m the leanest I’ve ever been at this weight, which isn’t saying a ton. I do well with deadlines, so I’ll probably chase leanness until either my birthday or Memorial Day. That gives me room to train however I feel.

Fantastic update, and I had a chuckle at the test comment.

As a Dan John fanboy, with you getting so gosh darn lean, logic would dictate to go full tilt toward mass building once it’s all said in done. You’ll never start from a better position and be able to effectively monitor growth, and there’s always the famous “rebound”. Keeping up with the Dan John fanboyism, there’s always “Mass Made Simple”, or, of course, Super Squats, but honestly, as a dude with some conjugate time under the belt, maybe you’d like Westside Barbell for Skinny Bastards, or perhaps something from Ben Pollack (which isn’t at all conjugate, but at least bodybuilding from the perspective of an accomplished powerlifter)

You know me well, man - I’m a bodybuilder who will never step on stage. I recognize how silly that statement is; I never would have called someone that ran a sprint and did a clean a running back that just didn’t feel like putting pads on.
I do like the conjugate stuff; I think it satisfies my ADD. Pollack is crazy entertaining and seems like a smart guy as well - definitely a good starting point!
To be fair, I’m not extraordinarily lean yet, I’m just leaner than I’ve been at this weight. Maybe I can muster the courage to jump ok super squats in spring after I get to a stopping point. For now, I still want to see some lower scale numbers.
I really appreciate the thoughts!
