They’re all rough. I’d definitely like to hear your feedback!
You’re a lot younger than me, so the joint-friendly component may not be as immediately noticeable, but they’re fun/ hard programs regardless.
The only thing I ever kind of “struggled” with for that one and Surge was there are light days sprinkled throughout the week; I didn’t feel like I needed that big dose of carbs those days. I saw you all take it on your off days, though, and everyone got jacked and tan.
I think that small boost to my normal calorie intake on a daily basis is certainly a contributor to some added mass and a big help with recovery. And recovery seems like it would be vital on a program of 28 days straight with no rest days.
I’m thinking in about 2 weeks! It’ll be once I’m back in the states and have access to a full gym again. A garage gym won’t cut it for this program from the looks of it lol
Last leg day of the second block in the books… thank God
Todays review is squat shoes. I’ve worn them a handful of times. They feel cool while I wear them, and I imagine I must look even cooler, but I think they make my knees hurt worse. My favorite shoes are the CrossFit shoes. I went back to those today because I’m just feeling so banged up and I think it helped a little.

I’ll get the last workout for the block in tomorrow, then I have to travel for a week. The hotel has a nice gym, but I won’t be able to do what this program calls for. I’ll get some light work, abs and cardio in, which probably should end up being restorative for me at this point anyway. Then I’ll come back and shift things around and get the last 3 weeks of this in amidst a couple shorter trips. All said, I think I’ll finish the program just one or two days behind the original schedule, which is not bad for real life. At that point, I’ll write up a rambling and incoherent review, assess my body fat and potential injuries, and make a next step plan for awesomeness.
We went out with our best friends last night, and stayed out way past my bedtime… today was rough.
I had preworkout ice cream with the kids, though, and my son sort of joined me again today —> all good stuff.
Last day of block 2. Next week I’m on the road, then we’ll get block 3 knocked down.
I squatted for years in them with no noticeable pain, put them away for a bit and it definitely seemed like they increased knee pain for me too, couldn’t figure it out. Ended up giving them to a friend. Have been considering buying another pair though to scratch my front squat itch.
They definitely feel better, for me, on front squats than back squats. What size are you? I could potentially mail you these. They’re Adipower (I don’t know what number)
Sorry I’ve been a bit away, all. Had a weeklong meeting for work, which was actually very enjoyable because I like these people. Then I had all the flight cancellations everyone is dealing with right now. By the time I got home, I didn’t feel good. I have more trips coming up, so I figured I’d better test, and I have Covid again. So it will be a few days yet before I’m back on program.
While I’m laying around doing nothing, I’m watching a shark week show where some 20-year-old women are free diving and tagging tiger sharks by hand. I’m sure there’s a lesson here, but I’m just amazed.
