I’ve started separating my cardio from the weights, so I take a weighted walk in the afternoon (sometimes with the dogs, when I’m feeling frisky), and I feel a lot better vs. doing one long session with everything.
Every one loves a good arms day. Only arms day I get is carrying that damn sandbag ![]()

Was going to do legs yesterday, but ended up being a weird day so I did arms and calves and cardio again!
My “training” has become so arbitrary that it’s funny.
I’m on the road for the next couple weeks, so it will be a lot of hotel hodgepodge.

I’m doing a lot better thank you, moving around a lot more now and even went for a 5 minute walk today (although had to have a massive rest afterwards).
I guess I’ve got to be patient but I want to get back moving and lifting (as lifting helps me feel happy).

Getting in some solid hotel workouts lately!
Weather stranded me in my layover city for the night, so I got an extra hotel workout in. This place actually had some selectorized machines and dumbbells, so I was able to go pretty bro-y

- My son is doing well in school, swim, and found a drama class that he’s very excited about (he’s had a tough time finding his thing, so this is huge)
- My wife has found a trainer job here at the nicest gym I’ve ever seen
- I turn 40 next weekend and my wife is taking me to Mexico, because she’s a sweet lady
- I ordered a Tacoma that happens to come in on or right after my birthday
- Netflix is releasing both the sequel to Vikings and the last season of Last Kingdom within a week of my birthday, validating the undeniable truth of my solipsism
I’m breathing a huge sigh of relief that things are working out for my family here
