Shieko or Something Else?

I’m considering trying out shieko for my next cycle, but there are several things i’m not certain about.

  1. I’ll have been lifting 9 months, is shieko plausible for someone with my level of experience?

  2. It will be during football season, I know shieko is high-volume, will i be extremely exhausted, or will i be fine performing both the lifting and a football practice on the same day?

  3. I don’t have the routine. could someone please send me a copy or a link? from what i know, it’s high volume, deadlift oriented.

I started the beginner Program

So far i like it, my lifts going into this are 205 bench 415 squat ATG with belt and 405 deadlift with belt only. So far the body part taking the toll are my lower back and shoulders but they have been a lot better since i upped my dose of fish oil.

I have about 6 months of training going into the program and i weight 179lb.

I dont think i would be able to do it if i had to play football or any other sport while doing this, its hard to recover from the workouts if your lifts are on the heavy side.

That’s mad that you ATG squat 10lb over your deadlfit…

Anyway, OP, I don’t see anyway that you’ll be able to manage sheiko and your football training.

ok, thanks Matso and Hanley. does anyone have a recommendation of a lower volume intermediate/adv. routine?

nice lifts Matso, i agree with Hanley, your squat being heavier than your dead is mad.

It was partly due to someone telling me that squatting was going to make my whole body grow, I was squatting 4 times a week at one point. It may also have to do with having thick leg(good genes).

One more thing…If you decide to do sheiko at a later time and use the link i put up or if someone else reads my previous post, remember its russian translation so it is put in {REP x SETS} format.

Doesn’t your football coach have you on a program?

That would work except a lot of coaches on football teams suck balls. I had people telling me to join the football team because i out lifted the biggest guys there (And my lifts are not big by any means). They were doing 15 rep curls and quarter squats with 135lb to prevent injuries. No wonder we only won like 2 games this year =/.

I think something along the lines of 5x5 would be pretty good. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Bill Starr wrote his 5x5 for football players.

My football coach has us on a program, but he stops the program as football starts. I guess we’re supposed to lift w/o structure then?
our coach was having everyone do box squats, but now he’s actually making the team go parallel.

and matso, we have 3 sets of 10 curls. 2x weekly. lol.

gone heavy, do you have any idea where i can find that routine? It sounds intriguing.
