Good to see some Albertans on this site. Just sent my entry in today as well for festival of strength. Getting excited as it will be my first.
WELL NOW I’m REALLY jealous!!! Ya’ll are gonna be there liftin’ shit!
Edmonton gets thumbs up for the oilers… but I really can’t think of another reason to go there. All the cool kids are in Calgary don’t you know…
If you like the oilers you can leave now. Only reason to go to edmonton is pretty much to go train with the UAPA.
I grew up watching the 80’s oilers of gretzky, messier, coffee etc… oilers are in my blood even if they have sucked since the 80’s.

Oh yeah and your terrible road system. Well at least he’s not a maple leaf fan. I wouldn’t want to live in calgary. After school im pretty sure I’m going to move out into the elk valley
Anyways now for todays training

New Shoes were definatly different I need to learn to squat again pretty much It’s a little bit different at least I have no problems getting depth.
Which version of sheiko are you running? Do you seperate it into am and pm sessions? And how long do your average workouts last? I’ve heard people talking about 2-3 hours depending what version they are running.
If its benching and squatting all in one can be done in about 2 hours. Deads Is closer to 2 1/2. I sometimes split it sometimes do it all in one. time also depends on who I’m training with.
Less Volume Since I knew training with adam In the morning was going to be rough

3 1 365(Havn’t done this In a LONG time atleast 6 months Also 15lbs less then meet PR)
I couldn’t sleep so i decided to think of goals that I would like to do at the meet in october or some goals that I want to strive for. I think I’m going to start with the meet since I think this will be easier.
Squat 195kg-200kg
I think this is attainable. I felt as though I was good for atleast 180 at the meet. I’m more then likely going to open with 175kgs at the meet In october so it wont be such a big jump for my thrid attempt. Also I’m still getting stronger. I hit 165kgx3 for a triple and I hadn’t hit that since the last time I ran Smolov over a year ago before blowing my knee out. It’s also 7.5kgs less than my squat at the meet So the numbers are coming.
Bench 135kg-140kg
This is a little bit of a stretch but I think if training goes well and I learn to eat somewhat properly the progress should continue. It’s weird to think that I was a 110kg bencher not even 6 weeks ago and I’m already hitting 120kg for a double. It’s definatly the Ice Cream sandwhichs that the secret about 24/week with cake a 2weeks out of a meet. I all seriousness this would be a nice PR.
Deadlift 210kg
The deadlift Oh the deadlift where to start other than It’s by far given me the most problems. It seems the more I train the further away a feel I am from where I want to be 140kgs feels heavy in training but come meet time I was still able to pull 190kgs. This one I definately a shot in the dark it’s not so far off that I dont think I’ll get it but it’s far enough that I’m going to have to work to get it.
Total:560kg or 1232
This seems so far away considering I totaled 482.5kg or 1063lbs at my last meet I think I’m going to do a skills eval when I get back from holidays at about 7 Weeks out I’ll pick my openers there then It’s guns a blazing into the meet with the last week of Sheiko 32 leading into the meet.
I’m going to try and drink more water I’ll add an extra liter at every meal whatever else I drink during the day, Hopefully this will help stabilze my weight a little bit more
Your ass needs to be WAY lower! Torso needs to be way more vertical. Also, you need to open your hips so your knees are wider. You also need to keep the bar closer when it passes the knees.

Called It there It was moving like shit and it felt like I was good morning the wieght Need to fix my deadlift for big time. It’s expected though I’ve been pushing extremely hard since the meet I’ll be happy to have a week off In another 3 Weeks let my body somewhat heal with beer and golf also looking forward to my training session with adam on saturday not too sure where it’s going to be yet
All of the work today felt slow. It;s a new thing training after work. First time in 3 Weeks I havn’t hit a bench or squat PR. Which Is alright I think I will be getting closer to more of the sheiko 30 template. I’ll also be adding more volume by making the second workouts a hell of a lot harder

These went well starting to use more leg drive but I need to learn to not hit the fucking rack. I push to far over my face thus hitting the rack. And Camera is mess or the tape is one of the two. So If you have DVM60 DVC tapes fire me a PM and yes my camera is THAT old. I also need practice wrapping my knees might try for get into them more before I Run 32/get ready for the meet
