I sometimes find myself in a situation without weights or other training equipment. This requires improvisation in terms of most bang for the buck excercises. Please share your opinions and experiences here.
I found the Reverse Nordics to be more than an accessory quadriceps excercise - Therefore my addition to this thread.
Pullups (any grip tbh, eventually can move to single arm), Nordic Curls (very easy to do assisted so you can build up to them), Diamond Pushups (Using Stairs), Dips (imo, a bit hard to progress on without a dip belt, outside of maybe widening grip), Handstand Pushups against the wall (I was never able to work up to Full ROM), Pistol Squats (I could never work up to full ROM either)
These are what I’d do/used to do if I had no access to any weights or ability to do weighted variations of these.
Edit: Oh yeah, Inverted Pushup/Row whatever you want to call it. Literally find a stick or broom. I used to use a chair or use one leg to make it harder, it’ll shift the load to either side.
Push ups → one arm push ups (which is also an incredible core workout)
Inverted row → chin up/pull up
Air squats ->lunges → pistol squats
“Naked Warrior” workout if I recall correctly was based on just one arm push ups and pistol squats but the author ( Pavel Tsatsouline) recommended supplementing with deadlifts or kettlebell swings for the posterior chain
