HT - Thanks! You’re a big/strong dude yer self, so double thanks!
I swear the ‘eating’ part is harder than lifting the weights…

Thanks Rug! yeah, that place is our weekly family tradition (and Christmas when we don’t travel to see family). Awesome food. It’s hard not to fill up!

Outstanding cgbp ing. And eating, too.[/quote]
Thanks, Hel!
Pete/Meat - Thanks big time for your suggestions in the threads and PM’s about the bench prep.
I owe much beer.
Saw you have your daughter’s christening or something to that effect the evening of your meet. Since you are going BOF there is a good chance you will be in a first a.m. flight, or else just mid-day. You should be fine. Communicate with your meet director though, they will be very helpful and should accomodate to some degree. Glad to see you are lifting in the APF, you will have a blast there.

I read the rules for APF raw and it’s not clear whether knee sleeves or wraps are allowed. It doesn’t mention them but doesn’t explicitly rule them out.
It does mention that wrist wraps not exceeding 1m x 8cm, so I’m guessing 36-in Inzer wraps (what I have) are legal… (?)
Looking strong SteeelyD. I’ll be up in Saco this weekend. Get some clean Maine air.

Are you going to squat? If raw you need to use the sleeves. Your wraps should be fine. Can you shoot me a link to the meet? Didn’t see it on the APF site…

I’m not planning on squatting this time around, but certainly future.
I didn’t see it listed either. My guy tells me it’s a go for May 7 though and he trains with the guy who’s supposedly coordinated.
Going on faith, here ![]()
Sent PM with some info.

Worked up to a couple singles and doubles. Missed PR+5, so backed off. Not where I want to be, but besides being weaker than a couple months ago, was working in a new gym on a very different bench (wah wah excuses) ![]()

Flat Bench Pt. II:

very high rep pec dec to pump blood into chest
Stretchy.

Must get diet back in order. Been lean on the beef, protein, and frequency and high in the crackers. No good. NO CRACKERS FOR YOU! (actually, no crackers for me).
Video check. I think I would have gotten red lighted on what I thought would be an opener ![]()

From “Amy” @ WPC regarding Inzer 36" wrist wraps and knee sleeve/wraps for raw:
“The wrist wraps will be fine. No knee wraps or sleeves are allowed in the raw.”

Dude that sucks about no knee sleeves. I understand about wraps though they are considered raw in SPF but I don’t know anybody who got extra weight out of sleeves. Just less knee pain after the squat.
I’m interested to see your progress in APF.
Looking strong Steely. What weight class? What kinda numbers you looking to push/pull? My first meet I blew my best bench attempt when I missed the ‘rack’ command.
I stand corrected. From the rule book:
That being said I know I have seen sleeves on some raw lifters. Local meet directors might let it slide.

HAHAHAHA @ weight class. I don’t even know what I weigh. I was hovering around 265-270 last month last time I weighed in, so probably “fatass weightclass”
I think I’m good for 365, but I’ll take anything past that. I know, weak sauce benching, but it is what it is and I want an ‘official’ number. ![]()
Squats/Legs
Fr. Squat:
Bar x many
135x10
225x10
315x5
335x1 (bad setup), x2, x4 (breath limit all)
Leg Press:
5pps x 12
7pps x 10
9pps x 10
10pps x 6+4
Calves in LP:
4 sets x 10-12 reps
Leg extension
4 sets x 12-10 reps
Nice front squatting. Now, question, do they tire your shoulders out at all?
Looking strong Steely! Gonna let the “interwebz” judges in on the “redlighted” opener?

Thanks!
re: shoulders-- Not at all. Bar digs in a little, but I keep elbows high and the bar back so I don’t lose it forward.
