Second Round of Rippetoe

Rippetoe Program
Week 6 Day 5

Warm Up + 1 Rep @ 250
Front Squat: 3X5 @ 235

Military Press: 3X5 @ 150

Power Clean: 3X5 @ 175

I tried Front Squats with a Power Clean grip, it hurt my wrists a little but my wrists have never been that flexible other than them being a little sore I prefer it over the cross arm grip.

Nice session. I have the same wrist problem as you (not doing front squats at the moment, however), but never made the switch to ‘proper’ grip. I can only think it would pay off with better all-around FS form. Maybe I will next go-round. Hats off!

Rippetoe Program
Week 7 Day 1

BW: 213

Squat Warm Up+
Squat: 2X5 @ 345

Bench Press Warm Up+
Bench Press: 1X4, 1X5 @ 210

Dead Lift: 0X5 @ 365, 0X5 @ 355, 1X10 @ 225

Ok so to start off with, I went to a concert last night, moderate drinking but I was home by 2am, not really hung over but my sinuses are killing me.
I know its not an excuse but I just wasn’t feeling it. I am happy with my bench it’s come along nicely.
I got my new program yesterday it’s a variation of DoggCrapp, one of my co-workers wrote it for me. I thinking of starting it this week the last couple of weeks I’m having trouble getting motivated to do Rippetoe lately.

Don’t be afraid to just take a couple days off, and focus on eating and sleeping well. When I do that I’m always itching to get back under the weights like crazy, does wonders for motivation. It can help a lot if you’re lacking in the recovery department.

Sick just plain sick, went home early, thought about lifting but spending more time in the can than anything.

I couldn’t get myself to go in and do Rippetoe again, I know I logged some good gains but I think mentally I have run the course with Rippetoe, I still might revisit it again after my new program runs it’s course. I did my 1st workout of the “new” program today and started a new log. For thoses of you who would like to contiue following my progress here is the link,
It’s simply named, Ryan’s Log
