Sacrifice a Week of Workouts for Knee Recovery?

Is this a wise decision? Next week is graduation week for me, and that means no gym. Phoenix_Theory DID workout a plan for me next week but my knee has consistently been getting injured from using it. Reason being is poor muscle timing… One leg muscle moving before the other, stretching and tugging my patella tendon. Pain.

Today playing paintball I really jacked it up, so I’m worried if I should use it at ALL this week.

Any advice?

heck no man!

Dont take a week off to recover, keep beating up your knee until you cant do any heavy leg work at all.

Good thing you asked, even tho you would probably came back stronger from a week off there is a chance that you could have been slightly set back. And that chance isnt worth taking.

Do light work?

Take the week off or just do upper body.

You should try to avoid working through acute pain.

Think about it this way. If you work through the pain for the week, maybe it gets better.

Or, if you work through the pain maybe it gets worse and you will need to get some major work on the knee done- which will keep you from doing lower body for much longer than a week.

Remember to train smart.

It only hurts when I run, and when I sleep… heh

Funny, I’m in the exact same position: school gym closed this week for graduation and having some knee pain. Going to wait til next week then hit it hard at a real gym finally.

Agreed. It can’t hurt to do some bodyweight mobility drills or other mobility drills. (unless it does hurt…then you should probably not do them)

How should one eat on a weeklong break?

If you care what you look like or are trying to lose weight, calorie reduction. If you aren’t trying to lose weight, business as usual.
