Never again. WAles haven’t hit the same heights since last year, and Hensons gone off the boil. With England and France back on form you stand NO chance. Now, I no you beat Australia recently but that’s nothing special these days. I’m not sure but Wales are also coming to Twickenham in the six nations arn’t they? Your buggered.

While that is the NZ rugby side in the video its not just rugby the league sides do it too…

With the league you can tell how well the kiwis are going to play by the passion in the haka… When you see Ruben Wiki who is a fucking beast crying while he does it and doing it with such passion it a bit scary to watch you know they will be on song…

Also Samoa and other island countries have their own im not sure what they are called though…

They’ve reinvented the haka now though haven’t they? I personally think it’s gone overboard with all the killing gestures e.t.c. It is highly intimidating but i doubt professional rugby players are affected by it.

its not reinvented just a different one of whch there are several. the best without doubt i have ever seen was in a Rugby league world cup. The NZ maori were awesome and it involved them jogging it from behind one set of sticks. Great to watch and no way on earth it should be fazed out ever.
Regarding the ozzies there 2 props short of a good team. Thats all.

As someone who’s participated in both rugby and crew at the collegiate division I level, I can assure you that crew is far from “gay.” Cardiovascularly crew is much harder than rugby and was more of a total body workout than anything, aside from lifting, that I’ve ever done. I enjoyed rugby too, just differently. Getting an open water lead in crew was as satisfying for me as any hit I ever delivered in rugby. And trust me, I hit – I played prop and inside center.

Man…you totally blew it…I was reading your post and I was starting to think perhaps I’d been a bit hard on rowing then I get to the end and you tell me you hit hard and played Prop and Inside Centre??? I assume you must be American because that must be one of the few places that this could possibly take place…and this makes me then think that far from hitting hard you’d probably struggle to knock the head of a beer. What would you say if I had said that I was a Wide Receiver and Centre for my American Football team?
I think it best that you probably stick with rowing as well and let our friend get back to his rugby.
As they say, arguing over the internet is generally a waste of time but here goes anyway. I am an American and I came from an American football background. I know how to hit. At 5’10" and 235 I was probably small for a prop and probably too large to be a good inside center.

My original point was simply that I’ve done both and both are hard in their own ways. Rugby left me bruised and battered but crew was by far the harder cardiovascular workout. I prefered rugby, mainly because of the contact and the fact that playing the game was more than just an extension of training. But calling crew “gay” is just stupid.

I totally reject this statement in the strongest terms. Arguing over the internet is great sport and arguing about anything is never a waste of time.

Mate. I was taking the piss. I actually want to be American when I grow up…like many foreigners I like to critisise and condemn all things American, take cheap pot shots at Americans and ridicule and rubbish them as much as I can…this mainly stems from bitterness and jealousy and the fact that I don’t have a passport and that I am not living in America this very second.

I never called it gay…just that when I didn’t know what ‘crew’ was I asked if it was gay…being a rampant hetrosexual I assume that all things I don’t understand are inherently gay.

I definately wouldn’t say that England is getting back on track. Despite an average performance from our boys (and a highly biased ref) we still came away with a convincing win. Hell, at one point we had 13 players on the field and England still couldn’t take advantage of it. The english scrum was bollucks too. Yep, obviously back on the right track.

France has to be the best northern hemisphere team at the moment. England is going to struggle, without a doubt.

It’s called Siva Tau. Generally the island haka’s (tau) are longer than our moari ones. Having played rugby since I was 5 I have to say that performing the haka definately prepares you for the game ahead. It really inspires a sense of invincibility.

Im moving, lol. Although, i spose being Australian you are froma country of convicts, no wonder they want to leave.

what should be focused on here is fact not opinion…

FACT - England were the only team all tour to give the All blacks a game.

FACT - The scrum is now a competitive part of the game again at international level and not merely as a restart where is was heading. New zealand and England have the best scrums in the world at the minute.

FACT - the hardest game of new zealands season, as admitted by several forwards and backs after the match was, yes you guessed it. England.

I could go on but what you kiwi’s fail to admit is your peaking is shit. You peak between world cups and no matter what i reckon you wil not be a form team come 2007 and not win a second world cup you so badly want. Enjoy being the top dogs while you can. These things come in cycles, i know, im English.

True. But here’s a fact. Alan Lewis questionable refereeing contributed more to Englands game than the players did. England couldn’t even capitalise on the Allblacks losing 3 players (Woodcock, Tialata and Masoe) in the final quarter. Had that been the reverse we would have walked all over you.

The english media was saying that your team would dominate in the scrum. This definately wasn’t the case as Carl Hayman used Andy Sheridan as his bitch. Thats a fact.

I have a couple of friends who now play for the Allblacks and they did admit that it was a tough game. But we still won.

This just sounds like sour grapes.
Do you work for the british media?
You’re all talk mate.
What you brits fail to admit is that your game is average. I have to agree with you though, our peaking for previous world cup campaigns has been shit. This doesn’t mean that 2007 won’t be our year though. We’ll have to wait and see…

lets keep personal comments out of this. Im not all fucking talk mate. The British media is terrible to be fair and is a bad reflection on our society/ Any one who thinks we believe them rather than be ashamed of them is wrong. The New zealand media as i understand it is not too pleasant either.

I thought us poms moaned? You won the game and your still moaning about the referee? Do you hear any English moaning about a certain ref that nearly cost us a certian trophy (2003 world cup maybe? - you must admit he was australias 16th man)

Andy sheridan is no bitch. Our pack of forwards played well and when certain parts of the media play it up that a team dominates the all blacks - anyone with any actual Rugby knowledge knows this wont be the case. It was a hard fought game between the forwards which possession and territory wise England won. You still won the match - i dont care how as winning is a priority at that level.

I feel where your game is heads above most other teams except France is in the back play. You have miles more pace and creation and can offload a class act like Carlos spencer to Northampton and still have two world class fly halves.

I am envious of the quality and pace you have out-side the scrum, and to be honest i watch our domestic league and dont know where we can compete or where the next guy that can spark is coming from.

However, England willl peak for the next world cup. France to win maybe? There your banana skin for some reason.

And im English. Less of this “brits” thing.
supermick wrote:

Sorry mate…you guys are always confusing us…like when Andy Murray wins he’s British and when he loses he’s from Scotland…shall I go on??? I have quite a lot of ‘British’ winners and Scotish, Welsh and Northern Ireland ‘losers’…you English seem to have a selective view of Britishness and Englishness…I always laugh everytime I see you drag those flags out…can’t wait to see the Commonwealth Games coverage…I am sure their will be plenty of British winners and Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish that fail to cut the mustard.

After reading through various posts around this site for a while, I’ve noticed that quite a few of you guys are rugby players. I enjoy the sport as it truly is a kick ass game, however I’m contemplating a possible stint with the crew team to try something new.

Considering that I will still be active within the gym in addition to conditioning and practices, which sport do you all think would be better for overall gains to go along with my workouts?
New guy to the sight. I have played Rugby for eight years now. There is no crew in rugby. If you need any help for work outs or programs as far as rugby let me know. You can reach me on this sight or my email. Rugby is a hard sport on the body, in season I wiegh about 240 to 250. Off season is about gaining size and speed. I konw it does not sound wright, size and speed. If you need speed work on your legs, concentrait on your hip flexors.
