i’d love to see silva fight roy… RJJ would destroy him, probably toy around alot, but you have to respect silva a fuckload for having the balls to do that… i mean it’s throwback oldschool who is the toughest shit, which you rarely see now-days with everyone ducking each other and paper champions…
mayweather talked about fighting MMA, but he is a talker… just a bunch of b.s. to hype himself… anderson silva is serious, so that would be alot of fun to watch.
rjj should fight at 175, silva at whatever weight he wants… ;d
peace

I think its assumed Roy Jones would kill him a bit to quickly. As in UFC 101 Andersons striking is to the point where its head and shoulders above most people in mma in my opinion. The only comparison I can make is to Roy Jones in that he’s so confident with his strikes and defense that he doesnt hold his hands up half the time relying on head movement to bait opponents, which as we saw Anderson is pretty good at.
I think the larger gloves would make the striking a lot different then MMA for Anderson, as I think he will be able to see them coming, dodge more effectively, and take more punches. In the Griffin fight he showed fantastic head movement and crazy accuracy, I think it’d be easier for him to dodge boxing gloves, but perhaps he wouldnt get a jab knock out with a pair of them?
Anderson Silva also isn’t stupid, as Roy Jones said in the link that someone posted from UFC 101 when Roy was Andersons guest, they are friends. Anderson knows how good Roy Jones is, he’s not stupid, if he thinks he can box Roy Jones, then I’ll take his word for it. Because he’s…Anderson Silva…
And Roy Jones is much older and slower then he was when all those highlight videos were made.
We’ve never really seen Anderson Silva “box” because he has so many other tools, but to just flat out say he’d get KO’d in the first round or 3rd round or whatever other early predictions I think is kind of foolish.
Either way I can’t wait for the fight to finally happen, I’m just saying I wouldn’t count out Anderson Silva, maybe the odds are against him, but to me its not nearly as stacked against him as people think. [/quote]
there’s video of silva boxing… a bunch of videos… he is very slick, RJJ-ish, but of course it’s not against people of RJJ’s caliber…
but anderson is pretty damn good at just boxing… he is very slick.
