Rotator Cuff!

Hi all,

I’ve been having troubles with my shoulder lately (thinking it’s all the 10x3 i’ve been doing on bench) so i’ve set to strengthen the inners of my shoulder!!

I’m thinking about doing a couple of exercises before bed everynight.

First off, this:

Which is this:

Also some lying external rotations:

Doing 2 x 25 for the first exercise from intense muscle and 3 x 25 for the external rotations. Is this going to be beneficial? (Might do some abs at night too)

Thanks in advance!

Sounds great.

But a much better approach would be to read this article: http://www.T-Nation.com/readTopic.do?id=1153915

And the 2 previous articles.

There’s plenty of articles on this site about shoulders:

Wow, nice reply! As much as they cover everything shoulder related I really just want a small routine I can do at night to strengthen my rotator cuff etc… that doesn’t take long at all. The current routine I posted first of all only takes about 15 minutes.

Bascially I guess what i’m getting at is the routine I’m doing at the moment going to be very beneficial?

What weight are you guys using for lying external rotations? I’m only using about 4-5lbs at the moment, any more and it hurts :frowning:

While a small dedication to shoulder prehab exercises will be beneficial to you, in this case more is better, depending on how screwed up your shoulders already are.

If there are structural flaws in your work-out routine, like much more emphasis on pecs and anterior deltoids than upper back and posterior deltoids, then a small routine for the night won’t do much.

My routines are balanced, my row to bench press ratio is pretty much 1:1.

I’m only saying I want to do some rotator cuff work because of this slight pain from my shoulders now and then. Wanna keep it in check because it gets too serious.
