RFK vs the FDA

I’ve always found the McDonalds thing confusing. I don’t have a bone to pick w/fast food per say. But of all the choices, even restricted to burgers, to choose from, McDonalds just seems/smells off to me. Go figure.

From Canada, American health care seems byzantine. Kennedy is unlikely to reduce the chaos. But don’t take my word for it (limited gift link)…

Kennedy has an agenda, for better or worse, more than a desire to simply run a govt agency. Everything is politicized.

Sure. But ultimately his performance will be measured by the health care he provides for Americans. Hopefully there are no pandemics in the next four years.

It will be measured by how they can spin it.

IMO, the most positive benefit that RFK offers is addressing man influenced chronic disease that disproportionately affects the USA. The problem is measuring the benefit. Our minds have difficulty seeing benefit of “cause and effect” when they are separated by time and space.

He can institute initiatives that seeing the benefit could be many years down the road.

The problem is how it affects profits. Any interference in the free market with regard to food choice will not be found acceptable by Republicans. Probably Democrats as well.

And that would be the only “cause and effect” anyone would notice. That would just validate the lack of systems thinking that is firmly set in our judgment.

Its my dowsing toe for finding mushrooms.

I just start walking and it finds them.

Do they shrivel upon seeing the toes??

Best burgers are homemade brisket patties, from saved scraps after trimming briskets. Further trimmed for desired fat ratios and run through a meat grinder for ground beef texture, you can’t beat it.

I use SPG and a touch of cayenne for seasoning, grill over charcoal and add grilled onions, jalapeños and cheese personally. Brush the buns with tallow instead of butter and lightly toast them on the grill. Add bacon for a cheat meal.

Home cut fries coated in tallow and air fried are great too.

Makes McDonalds taste like the garbage it is in comparison.

Dammit, now I’ve GOT to get a burger for lunch today! Reading that so early in the morning got my stomach throwing a tantrum with my brain, telling me to eat a burger and not the lunch I brought for work. But, it actually didn’t take much negotiation since I brought ground turkey and rice.

I’d like to add, put the [cheese]burger you described on either a Brioche bun OR one of those King’s Hawaiian buns! Oh, and put a literal “from a farm” (not bought in a chain grocery store) egg, fried, on top of the burger! Although I know not everyone can get those, so then just swallow down your rage and get the real expensive farm-raised, cage free, free range whatever pack of eggs; you’re going for a rich, tasty, deep-orange colored yolk, NOT the pale yellowish-dull yolk found on the super cheap eggs. The yolk is the most important part of this topping since it’s what break and oozes down all over your burger, giving a rich taste. For those who have NOT had the pleasure of this, give it a try, and afterward you’ll wonder why you never did it sooner.

Yep, I’m getting a burger at lunch today but I’m making a badass brisket/egg/brioche burger (thanks go out to @Njord) this weekend for sure. And also YES, with the home cut fries cooked like you described.

I like kings Hawaiian buns. There’s a local bakery where I’m at that makes some excellent buns too. Similar texture to the Hawaiian buns but they hold up a little better. I use them pretty much exclusively.

Every time I use the garlic salt I compulsively say to no one or everyone, “garlique my balls.”

You mail these burgers by chance ??

No, they would lose their patina.

But if you’re ever near San Antonio or Austin for BJJ we can hit some heavy squats, wrestle and grill them.

Noted… ty

Odds are RFK Jr. will pass the Senate confirmation as he has made it over several hurdles.

Health stocks tumble as the confirmation of RFK Jr. is all but certain. Hallelujah! Nice to see some come up pance to those who sell poison.

Hallelujah! RFK Jr. has been confirmed. Hopefully he doesn’t get his hands tied in some way so that he can do what he has said.
