Pretty wild that a guy with zero medical background or expertise is nominated to head the FDA, and that same guy who spent much of his life protecting the environment is now cowtowing to a POTUS who ran on a platform of dismantling environmental protections.
I’m unsure who is a scummier powerwhore, Vance or RFK.

I agree, it would be really wild if RFK Jr took a position of public health responsibility in the USA.
A guy like that is a really big departure from the kind of serious medical professionals on physical and mental health that we’re used to having in those positions.

Yeah, FDA has been a mockery for many years in the stuff they ban and their health recommendations.
The food label says of a 2000cal diet:
200cals should be protein
450cals should be fat
1350cals should be carbs
They dont recommend what’s best for YOU, they recommend what’s best for the government.
Its the same reason public schooling is such a massive failure.
If they wanted you to be fit, proactive, and educated - more people would be.

It’s sad that they need to want it in order for people to do it.
On a more serious note, RFK Jr is a lawyer and the FDA is a regulatory body, not a scientific research organization.
IMO he’s as good of a fit as any of the past people who’ve held that position and I think setting a few bulls loose in the China shop will do far more good than bad for the US Government.
We’re only a couple of years removed from the government attempting to mandate that millions of people get a completely new and unproven medical treatment in order to keep their jobs.
A treatment that didn’t work as advertised, I will add.

Coming from a guy who just whined about not receiving good enough direction from the govt, I don’t doubt you have first hand experience with those folks. To each their own.

A lack of good direction is not the same as deliberately bad direction.
I don’t blame you for not understanding the difference. It’s the same story for all of your people.
