Revolution is My Name

Okay, so I remembered three more things:

  1. After bench I did some twisty abs that both my chiro/ART and massage therapist have recommended.

  2. You know your body hates you when your inner thighs are so sore/tight it hurts to sit on the bench and set up because they lean against the bench.

  3. I got laughed at tonight by one of the biggest/strongest (yet still a teddy bear) guys… I was rocking out to my music while squatting and he asked what I was listening to. I showed him my ‘angry’ music and he was fine with it. When I was benching, he asked what I was listening to and I realized I had switched playlists to a much softer/fun list. I hadn’t really remembered switching, but after thinking about it, I realized that I stress out about bench so need to relax to do it well. With squats/deads, getting fired up works for me, hence the angry music. Anyways, when he saw that the song playing mid-bench was “I wanna sex you up” by Colour Me Bad, he couldn’t stop laughing. I deserved it though. Now the rest of you can laugh at me too.

Okay, what if I buy my own squat suit. Will you buy me boobs and schooling?

That’s one more down for ya! And it could potentially help pay for the school as well![/quote]

BAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

Thanks Rugger. Are you a benefactor on there? Is that how you knew about this site?

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life. I was up at 5am EST to catch my flight and finally went to bed at 1130pm PST, so it was a 21.5hour day. I did sleep for most of my flight time, but it’s not the same as a bed flight.

I landed around 1pm PST (after PMPM failed to meet me at the airport in Denver for a DL session). A guy I had met when visiting Vandy (who is also now coming to UCI) landed around the same time. We got our bags, our cars and went on our way. He went apartment hunting while I went to the beach.

I walked about 4-5miles total and man oh man did my calves kill after that! But it was well worth it because it was about 70F and sunny and there were cute surfers, hot volleyball players and sexy guys running…all with their shirts off. I was in perv heaven (I must be ovulating hahaha).

Ended up meeting with a few other admits for dinner and drinks, hence the late night. Passed out HARD when I finally got to bed. I’m blaming all this on the fact that my gym session today was meh… more to come

Edit: You know your body hasn’t seen sun in a while when 1.5hours outside leaves you with a bit of a burn on your face/chest/shoulders… I like it thought

Okay, so went to the Gold’s Gym in Huntington Beach today to train. Went as follows:

Bench:
45x10x2
75x5x1
95x5x5

Deadlift:
135x5x2
185x5x1
205x3x5

Deadlifts were supposed to be 5x5, but I didn’t have chalk or my belt. It was more the chalk though, my grip sucked. They also didn’t have a whole lot of space to DL so I was stuck doing it inside a powerrack which meant my stance was in closer than what was comfortable. The knurling on the bar was also SO rough! Between bench and DL, my hands are currently torn to shit.

Squats:
45x10x1
135x5x3

I wasn’t supposed to do squats, but my hips were a little tight so I wanted to loosen them up a bit. Oh plus I was putting on a show for the guys ? more to come on that?..

1 Arm DB Row
37.5x8x3
37.5x20x1

So I found this gym on powerliftingwatch.com. It said it was “PL friendly” because a group of strongmen train there. While I was benching I noticed a group of 3 big guys doing a variety of shrugs, rows, presses, etc. I moved to deadlifts and was already getting looks but totally caught them watching me after one set. I figured they were with the strongmen crew… they just had that ‘look’.

When I went back over to do my rows, I ended up on a bench near them. The cutest one that I had been checking out between sets (yes, I already mentioned the liklihood of me ovulating) started chatting with me about how he had noticed me benching, I knew how to DL and squat, did I do PL? I told him yes and we ended up chatting for like 20 minutes after I finished my rows. He told me I should continue to train out of there and I said I wouldn’t be back in town til the fall. Apparently a few PLers train there as well so he gave me his email to get in touch with him when I’m back down and he’ll introduce me.

I didn’t get pics for diana or the rest of you pervs and I apologize. It’s ingrained in my memory though so if I figure out how to share those, I’ll pass it along.

Now it’s time to pretty up and get to the school for, you know, the real purpose of this trip…

hahaha…I thought you had better taste than that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Monday May 4, GL

Eliptical
Foam Rolling
Mobility

Bench:
45x5x1
75x5x1
95x5x5 - approx 1 min between sets

Deadlift:
135x5x2
175x5x1

I was supposed to do 205x5x5 but during my last few reps of warm ups, my hip cramped and knotted and pained to the point that I couldn’t get down to the bar anymore. I tried some more mobility and rolling, but it just wasn’t happening. I decided instead of forcing it to cut it short.

Cardio:
20min light on the bike

The guys were impressed that I was able to bike, read a book and listen to my music all at once. Apparently guys can’t multitask.

Also, Ouro’s nameless boyfriend just returned from Mexico. He thankfully didn’t bring me back swine flu, but did bring me back some hotsauce. He brought tequila for one of the guys but when asked earlier I said I didn’t like tequila and would prefer hot sauce. Crazy guy got it for me

Men take their time and get it right. You multi-task and probably fell off the bike while listening to Hannah Montana. And what book were you reading? Was it called “How to listen to music and ride a bike at the same time?”

Anyway, nice workout!

women can multi-task? what planet have I been living on!

Back at the gym tonight. Spent WAY too long there. I blame Ouro, her nameless non-bf and Scotty as the four of us were horribly loud and obnoxious and inappropriate between sets. I had ART before I went to the gym, but still got into my suit bottoms to squat because, well, my hip felt like shite.

Squat:
45x10x1
95x5x1
135x5x1
165x5x2 (I got to talking to Ouro and forgot to change the weight cuz I’m a dumbass)
185x3x1
205x1x1
225x5x5 - suit on, straps down, belt

I’ll add links to videos soon. I think I have the second set at 165, 185 and one of the sets at 225 (last one?). I want to join the crew of people asking meat for feedback  Although watching them myself I know my elbows aren’t nearly underneath enough.

Bench:
45x5x1
75x5x1
95x5x5

My lats are in a perma sore state from all this damn benching. Can’t wait to get back to 3x/week starting next week.

Bent Over Rows
70x12x1
80x12x1
80x10x1

In other news, one of the straps on my suit ripped where it had been shortened (the shortening, not the suit). Therefore I need to redo it. Ouro suggested dental floss and a (darning?) needle. I might use fishing line. She had all these great ideas but didn’t offer to take it home with her to do it for me. The nerve! So tomorrow I’m going to have to go hunting for a needle (Ouro, what kind did you say again?) and some fishing line and put my non-susie-homemaker skills to use. Should be special. I don’t think I’ll be using my suit straps up til next Thursday, but you never know when you head down to play with the Niagara boys.

I would have sewn it for you but at the time I didn’t think I’d see you before Saturday. It definately would have been a lot easier than listening to your general lack of knowledge as you asked what a darning needle was. Kids these days.

By the time we talked about Friday, I’d forgotten about it.

At any rate it wasn’t nearly as entertaining as watching Scotty fuck various pieces of equipment talking at the top of his voice about the girl who wanted to be strangled, or giving the nice birthday song to my boyfriend

I am the happiest girl in the world right now.

If I drop it off to you Saturday afternoon can you have it ready for Monday? or Thursday? I’m deadlifting in full gear Thursday…before then it’s just suit bottoms for my hips if they act up and get angry.

PS. I’m now going down to Niagara tomorrow night to work in it because neither Frank nor Hoi will be around on Saturday to dress me.

You’ll have to let me know how you make out. Will it be with tongue or not? hahaha. I can’t wait to hear what it does for you.

I’ll be at GL on Sunday as well.

It’s just Frank tomorrow…hopefully there’s no tongue lmao.

I’ll let you know how it works. If I don’t go to Niagara on Saturday, I may take Sat off and go to GL Sunday instead. We shall see. I may still go there on Saturday to support Rugger, bench raw and squat in my suit bottoms (or deadlift if I don’t get around to DLing tomorrow)

Wow. What a night. The bruises covering my body are unreal. I had some squat suit marks from the other day, I have bruises on my hipbones from my belt and then today I got into my new bench shirt. I have marks/bruises starting from the front of my shoulders, down my arms, under my armpits and some pretty nasty ones on my boobs. I seriously look abused.

Today was a bench only day for me as it took forever to get through everything. Tomorrow I’m back down in Niagara to squat and deadlift.

All bench all day:
45x10
75x5
95x5
105x5
Took about 10 minutes to get me into my shirt using arm slippers. I got felt up every set by Grace.
Bench Shirt Work:
115xa bunch (trying to stretch it a bit)
135xa bunch (trying to stretch it more)
155x3 (still not close to touching
165x3 (last two were really close)
165x1 Full commands - yay!
165x0 Full commands, it swung towards my teeth on the way up
175x0 Full commands, I pushed back instead of straight up, almost ate it again
175x1 Full commands, PR

It was an ugly PR, but a successful lift nonetheless. The guys were happy I got to touching in it the first day. They think there’s a lot more to come out of this shirt because it wasn’t even tweaked, just set. I need to work on pushing straight up because if I get out of the shirt groove on the way up, I’m not strong enough to push the weight up without the shirt, and I’ll eat the bar.

After my failed 175 I said I wanted to do it once more. As they were about to start adjusting me and Grace was standing on a bench (she’s short, needed to stand up there to get down my shirt), Matt let one rip. It was the most vile smelling gas in the world. Apparently my face was priceless and I actually pushed away from him and walked away. I almost literally threw up in my mouth. We waited a few minutes and adjusted my shirt again.

Time for bed so I can wake up in the morning to squat and dead. I’m also getting my suit fixed by the place that does all of theirs after training in the morning. One of the guys is dropping it off (my strap ripped where it had been shortened so needs to be reinforced).

Was back in Niagara this morning. Had a pretty good session. As per usual, lots of laughs and inappropriate comments. Rugger was down and so was one of the guys that Ouro trained with last week at a different club. He wore a new suit for the first time and squatted 655lbs with ease. Sick!

Squat:
45x10
135x5
165x3
Hips started hurting, so went into my suit bottoms with belt
205x5x5
→ My fourth set was actually a set of 6 because I continued my blondeness from yesterday and lost count

My squats felt good but I had to keep being reminded to sit back into my suit. I felt like my arms were right under as well because my elbows were brushing my thighs when I hit depth.

Deadlift (stayed in suit bottoms)
135x5
185x5
Belt:
225x5x5

One of the guys said I should have used more than 225, but after 2 weeks of 5x5, my body is feeling pretty run down. I’m looking forward to starting 3x3 next week more than you could know!

Just to clarify this. There was a 655lbs squat, but it wasn’t me. But I did make sure to lean against the rack so other people would think it was me.
