Holy crap. (Holy crap is directed at the arch in the first video)

So does 95 feel a lot lighter now that you’ve pressed 170?

Ha… just a tad. I won’t be in my shirt again until a week Saturday so I’m staying lighter, higher volume.

Is that why you’re investing in pre-marital counselling? Solid idea.

Court was showing me how she arched like that. I’m trying to fix mine. When I tried it, I couldn’t get my legs back out the the front/side. The benches feel too low and my legs feel too long and they kind of get stuck backwards under my ears. I’m trying again tonight.
HAHAHAHAHAHA Oh Neely. You kill me.

Ouro, I’ll show you again tonight. Practice makes perfect. Plus it doesn’t unseat my shirt and it lets me adjust my belt down when I’m shirted to lock everything in place while I’m arching back. It’s quite the skill. In the bedroom, the guys love it. And clearly on the Go Train too…

Apparently it’s a damn long screening process since you still haven’t nailed down that first one. She should have time to finish her MBA anyway.

Amazing job on bench and deadlift…what are the Niagara guys putting in your water?

Your arch set up is quite acrobatic. I may try it. I will have Pepe Paparazzi (MMGALB) film it for an entertaining spazzoid video!

PLEASE try it and PLEASE have Pepe Paparazzi film it  I used to do a set up with my feet on the bench and pulling them closer to my ass while driving my shoulders into the bench (you can see a pic of it on my facebook). With the shirt though, I want to keep everything tight and seated properly, so I had to change. I tried my old way and choked myself with the shirt. I tried just using my legs on the ground to drive into my shoulders and arch, but didn’t get much of an arch. This works and I like it.

As for the water, nothing. It’s really just a matter of having a shitton of people KNOW you can do it and having them not set you up for failure. In the gym with them I have never missed a max attempt, but I’ve had to work hard for them every time. When you have people who have been in the sport for over 20, 30 years, people that have attended multiple worlds, telling you how to do it and that you will do it, you just do it. That’s why I’m glad they’ll be around to handle me at my meet

So training tonight sucked. Note to self: When you’ve planned a day off, stayed up late the night before, didn’t sleep well and haven’t eaten well, you shouldn’t attempt to train.

I went in tonight to spot Ouro on her lifts and figured while I was there I would lift myself. As evidenced by my shitty spot of her failed squat (because she folded like a cheap deck of cards), I didn’t even perform my duties as planned.

After benching and deadlifting on Friday and then benching yesterday, my back was SUPER tight. Alas, it was time for more benching and deadlifting (shoot me).

Training:
Warm up, foam roll forever, mobility

Bench:
45x10x1
75x5x1
95x5x5

Deadlift:
135x5x1
175x5x1
205x5x5

In between I spotted (or failed to spot) Ouro and also slapped Scottie’s ass so hard my hand still hurts. I left him with a nice chalk mark though. I also talked lacrosse with my brother’s coach who trains there as well.

For this week and next I’m alternating Bench/Dead days with Bench/Squat days, all raw, all 5x5. I’m increasing volume to get my body ready for heavy weights when I start getting down to doubles and singles. Today sucked balls. I’m going to be sticking with the same weights and while tonight was super rough, I know those weights are good weights for me to use.

Afterwards, I decided as more punishment to attend my last indoor volleyball session of the season. It started off really shitty but once I warmed up again, my back felt better and I ended up playing really well. It helped that my team was pretty kick ass and a lot of fun. I played with guys I haven’t played with most of the season (it’s kind of pickup). We then went for a few end of season drinks on the club.

I’m now ready for bed after defending my shitty spotting of Ouro’s squats. Long work day tomorrow, though a massage in the afternoon. I’m taking tomorrow off from the gym, lifting Wednesday. I fly to Cali on Thursday so am going to try to hit the Gold’s nearby either Thursday night or Friday am before I have to be at the school and then Sunday once I return for my 4th session of the week.

I just have to keep telling myself that I do it because I love it and because I have a meet in under 6 weeks… because right now my body is pissed off at me and just wants to eat and sleep.

We are benching on Wednesday so I may be able to fit a go at it in the name of entertainment.

It’s pretty cool what coaching and positive motivation can do for lifting. I can’t believe how much my lifts went up when I got coached how to lift. Molly accused me of sandbagging my bench on my packing day because it went up so much but it was really that I had no clue how to bench before I started lifting with them.

Okay so I confirmed my training for the next 6 weeks before my meet.

Week 1/2:
4 sessions, 5x5, no gear, same weight every session
Squat 2x
Bench 4x
Deadlift 2x
So alternate Squat/Bench with Bench/Deadlift. The last session on week 2 will be in gear in Niagara

Week 3:
3 sessions, 3x3, no gear
Squat 2x
Bench 3x - in gear last session in Niagara
Deadlift 1x

Week 4:
3 sessions, 3x3, gear
Squat 2x
Bench 2x - only in gear the last session in Niagara
Deadlift 1x

Week 5:
Heavy singles and doubles, all in gear
Squat 2x - once heavy, once to opener at end of week
Bench 2x - Shirt at beg of week, raw at end of week
Deadlift 1x - to opener at beginning of week

Week 6:
Bench 1x - to opener at beginning of week

Rest of week 6 is eat, sleep, recover, foam roll, mobility.

I had a very productive day at work so far. The rest of the afternoon is going to be busy as crap with real work, but here’s how I spent my morning:

 • Created a daily calendar of what I’m training, when, where and gear/no gear

 • Printed all of my itineraries, boarding passes, etc for my trip tomorrow morning

 • Programmed my GPS will all my important addresses (including Gold’s Gym in Huntington Beach, the school, the restaurant I’m going to tomorrow night and PMPM’s work address so I can stalk her for the 2 hours I’m in CO)

 • Got US money

 • Created my list of things I have to pack tonight (after I go to the gym and do laundry of course)

 • ORDERED A 36 TITAN F6 BENCH SHIRT (can we tell what’s most exciting)

I’m expecting the shirt sometime next week so I should be able to use it next Saturday. The difference between this shirt and Ouro’s that I was using is essentially how the arms are positioned. The F6 is built for an arched bencher (see my videos) and therefore allows you to find the groove easily and have the bar controlled the whole way down. The Fury is better for someone with a smaller arch. I’m excited.

I still need to buy a squat suit at some point in my life and am looking for a sponsor to pay for that, fake boobs, and my school. I’ll put out and even give roadhead.

The hoiman just recommended I get the 34 F6. I’m going to wait a bit to order mine. Can I take a look at your’s when you get it?

Of course. I’ll let you know what I think about it after I use it next week too. When him and I were talking about gear for me, he also told me he thought you should be in an F6…

fake boobs have gone down in price,
squat suits are getting pricey,

paying for grad school, that is like extortion.
kmcnyc wrote:

Okay, what if I buy my own squat suit. Will you buy me boobs and schooling?

That’s one more down for ya! And it could potentially help pay for the school as well!

So today was my second squat/bench session of the week and the 3rd time I’ve benched since Sunday. The purpose of this week and next is basically to increase my volume so when I decrease volume and increase weight in a few weeks my body thanks me for it and produces.

I knew it was going to be a little rough when my inner thighs were still sore from deadlifting on Monday and my back was sore from that plus all the benching. I even forgot my foam roller so I couldn’t roll the pain away.

Warm up on the eliptical
Stretching/mobility

Squats:
45x10x1 (felt heavy)
95x5x1 (felt really heavy)
135x5x1 (felt light! yay!)
175x5x1
185x5x5 - belt

185 was probably a little on the lighter side, but I definitely had to work for the 4th/5th rep of the 4th/5th set. Kept my rest time pretty short except when my brother’s lacrosse coach started chatting with me and wouldn’t shut up. I also thought a lot about MM’s advice to Ouro about throwing the elbows forward. It definitely helps coming out of the hole! I was told a few weeks ago that I started tilting forward with my 315 squat but made an adjustment that forced my chest back up. Now that I understand WHAT I did, I can make it into a habit.

After this I played the drunk voicemail I got from one of the gym guys on Friday night at 3am. They didn’t realize the phone didn’t hang up so I ended up with a 3 minute long message of 2 of the gym guys talking about how they were craving cheeseburgers and sex with the bartender. The three of us had a laugh and they were a little embarrassed about the drunk dial. Kids these days…

Moved on to bench:
45x10x1
75x5x1
95x5x5

Defintely felt these in my lats today. Three bench sessions in 4 days will do that to ya though. I have a bad habit of letting my wrists drop back instead of keeping them tight. Over the weekend I was shown a different way to grip the bar which basically forced my wrists to stay tight the whole way down. After being reminded of this today, I really concentrated on doing this tonight and it worked.

Since the weights are light-ish the next week as well, I’m going to try to concentrate on one particular aspect of each lift to get it ingrained in my head. Hopefully that way when I’m back in gear it will all come together nicely.

I finally decided to do laundry and pack when I got home from the gym. My flight to CA is at 840am for our new admits welcome weekend thingy at the school. I’m really looking forward to it. OG reminded me to bring a sweater because it’s been a “chilly” 62ish. What a bitch haha. I’ll be prancing around in shorts and a tank top all weekend with that weather!

Oh and to end my long ass post, I’m training on Friday morning at Gold’s Gym in Huntington Beach. Hoping to scope out some hotties haha. Will update after that.
