No word of a lie, this was said to me towards the end of my session tonight. She then proceeded to ask how they got that way and I said “Squats. Lots of squats and lunges. And don’t be afraid of using heavy weight.” She smiled but then went back to her eliptical. Sigh. At least I was pleasant enough to her that when she decides she still looks like shit after doing cardio only for a year, she’ll come back and talk to me.

I got destroyed by my session tonight. I put on my angry music I usually listen to on leg day and went to it. I didn’t know anyone there so I was in the zone and had a good one.

Eliptical for 5 minutes (while I plotted the death of this guy who kept flexing his chest muscles while talking to the girl next to me)

So I got pinned under 75lbs and laughed my ass off. I struggled bigtime on my 7th rep but tried for one more and got it halfway up before it came back down. Someone I know had shown up right as I was setting up and I knew he was waiting for me to finish my set. He ended up lifting the bar off my chest while I laughed uncontrollably. He said he’d never imagine he’d have to save me from under 75lbs :slight_smile:

My tris literally were on fire and after I worked my biceps in the first set, I knew I was toast. However I figured dropping it by 5lbs would allow me to get 10 reps. I was wrong. It was funny. I laughed. However when I got out to my car it hurt to turn the wheel. Meh, I’ll live.

So sbmart, how’s that? I didn’t hate my session today and pushed myself as far as my body let me! :smiley:

Haha. That happened to me the other day. I was benching the same amount of weight and ended up not being able to get the bar up. There was no one looking, so I rolled it down my body, onto my lap, and sat up to put it back on the rack (kind of sad that I can clean that weight no prob).

Everything would have been great, except this huge body builder moving around giant plates on the machine infront of me looks back and goes “Nice form” while kind of chuckling. I wanted to throw the bar at him.

Yeah CG sucks donkey balls. Especially at the end of a session that has worked you over pretty well. At least iI can bench more than that so it’s not quite as pathetic… And 'tis true about my legs. They’re hot and sexy and muscular. You can’t get those riding the eliptical! I blame my girly arms on my parents though who had me in soccer growing up and nothing that really required upper body strength :slight_smile:

I caught him flexing his bicep in the mirror. He quickly glanced over to see if I saw it and I was giving him a dirty look. I think I like GL Burlington. There always seems to be someone putting on a show. On Monday it was a guy quarter squatting super set with one legged jumps. I looked over and was thinking wft but then realised I was wearing a squat suit, knee socks and dance slippers so he may very well have been thinking the same. Either that or what a sexy bitch.

On Monday after I helped Joe squat properly, a guy put the pussy pad on and went to squat while wearing his workout gloves. He put the safeties up super high until Joe told him to lower then. He said “Yeah I don’t go very low, I need to work on that”. Since I had just helped Joe, he said I should help him and I said it would be a waste of my time because he didn’t want to. Instead he loaded up the bar to 135 and did power curtsies.

I haven’t seen to kicking guy yet. I’ll keep my eyes peeled. The one on Upper James has it’s share of shadow boxers. I’d been at the other gym for so long and was often the only one in the weight room that I thought all these guys were a myth. I’m glad I changed gyms because this is so much more fun. I’m not even being sarcastic. I love people watching between sets.
