Hopefully all the above, yes I am that good

Trained with Ouro this morning at my gym… did about 1/3 of my session. Was focussed on speed because I plan(ned) on starting Sheiko Tuesday.

Bench
45x8x1
65x5x1
85x2x8

DB Floor Press
25x8x1
30x8x2

Squat
45x10x1
95x5x1
135x3x1

During the 135 I felt a burning sensation on the inside of my right knee. I racked it, tried some BW stuff and any bending hurt. The first little bit would be okay, and once I was deep in the hole it was okay, but anything in the middle, both lowering and rising hurt. So, I called it quite, iced, compressed, wrapped Ouro’s knees for her last squat and called it a day.

Now I’m icing, Aleve-ing, compressing and elevating.

Let me know what chiro guy says. Hopefully its just a minor tweak like when I did my lower back doing rack pulls a few weeks ago.

I may go to that gym more often. If I’m going right from work (when I don’t have to pick up the girls) it’s about 5 minutes away.

I got a dirty/weird look from some chick after you left. I was finished DL and wanted to finish with rack pulls. This chick and her boyfriend were doing bullshit stuff in the cage so I decided I could use the squat rack. I needed the plastic step up things.

She gave me quite them look when I asked her to get her shit off the steppers. I phrased it much more nicely though and I smiled. I should have punched her in the face. I’m not friendly that often.

Wow! I came over here because Court said she’d be nice and look who’s here threatening to kick yet another bitch’s ass!! My gal, ourbouro_s, Canada’s answer to “them gals on the Jerry Springer show!” We’ll know when the Nationals are: when the Emergency Room in Moosejaw is flooded with women who “dick around in the squat rack” and just generally don’t know how to behave!

I’ll have to frequent more Powerful Women logs and see just how many asses “Miss O” is gonna kick!! Hey, go kick Joe Weider’s ass while you’re at it! He IS Canadian and I’m sure he got the idea for “Ms O” from YOUR username!

I’d take the easy way out and blame it on pms except that I think I’m just an angry misanthrope much of the time. Who knows, maybe my smile was more like a tooth baring snarl.

I even got ‘happy’ pills at the supplement store. They are actually called that and have a big yellow smiley face on the bottle. They’re mostly a combination of b complex vitamins and caffeine. I told the woman at the store I like them. They don’t make me happy, just significantly less bitchy. She was okay with that.

Maybe I really got the odd look from the woman because I think I was the only woman (except Court) that wasn’t there being trained by her boyfriend and giggling like a tool. I for sure thought I was going to witness squat rack fellatio.

I got my ass kicked by Sheiko tonight. Fully kicked. It was good, but I’m currently wiped. I started with mobility at 6:30pm and ended with a 5 minute bike ride at 9:45pm.

Squat:
45x5x1
95x5x1
135x1x1
150x5x1
180x4x2
210x2x3 → belt
240x2x5 → belt, wraps

Bench:
65x5x1
75x4x1
90x3x2
100x3x6

DB Flies:
12.5x10x2
10x10x3

Squat:
115x5x2
150x5x1
180x5x1 → belt
210x4x3 → belt
210x3x2 → belt (I didn’t have a spotter on these and didn’t want to have to dump the bar after the 3rd rep was a monster struggle to get up).

Crunches:
10x3

The 6 triples at 100 for bench were really tough. The first 2 sets were fine, the third set the last rep was tough. It was about that time I decided to get a spotter in case I tried to crush my face. I got every rep up on my own but the last rep in each set after that was super tough.

The second round of squats sucked ass. There’s nothing more to be said about them.

I had my headphones on the entire time and when I finally took them off at the end, I heard John Mayer. I shit you not. John Mayer’s cd was on in the gym. Granted it was 9:30 and there weren’t many people in the gym, but still. I thought maybe it was just one song, but he was still playing after I got all my stuff out of the lockerroom. I wanted to stab myself in the ears with a pencil.

Don’t worry, you’ll adjust to it quickly…3 freakin hours???

Nice work on getting the final reps out, they are what makes the difference.

We’ve done the three hour thing many times but it was as a team where you’re waiting for other people. This is crazy intensity. I like it.

Court, I had to have a sympathetic lie down after I read this. I think after April, I may try a cycle of Sheiko.

Yeah this was no SC Barn 3 hour session. Because I knew it was going to take a long time, I basically only rested for long enough to feel like I could do it again. My squat rests were pretty short for the first go-round (except for my wrapped ones) and my bench rests were short.

Because I’m cool like that, I calculated that I squatted over 13,000lbs last night. And I benched almost 3000lbs. If that doesn’t increase my strength, damned if I know what will…

My body isn’t ‘sore’ yet, but it’s achey. That “I’m going to be real sore real soon” sort of feeling. Yay. I can’t wait…

I can relate to the nerdish figuring out how many lbs you moved. I’ve done that a few times.

I bet you can’t wait for tomorrow when the pain will hit for real. Are you back at it tomorrow night?

I’m in tonight for the bench, squat and overload fun. My upper back hurts from the weighted chins on Monday. It was only 11 total reps but holy cow, my back feels it.

are you guys both full time @ burlington good life now? i have a hard time following, seems you’re at so many different places.

I joined Goodlife but only went to the Burlington one for the first time on Sunday. I’ll probably be there more since I realised it’s 5 minutes from work. When I go from home, I’ll be at Upper James. They have better stuff there.

When’s the last time you were there?

More to the point, tell me about the bar fights. Were they at Billy Bobs? Is that why it’s now a paint store?

hmm…two saturdays ago, if i remember correctly…usually only saturdays, the odd sunday if i’m feeling extra motivated…

billy bob’s, haha…that place was a zoo, poor people that lived near there…oddly enough, I have been in a couple of tussels there, but when it was called the pipeline and…crobar i think was the other name.

oh billy bob’s…a bastion of class it was.

That means you were there the day of our meet. Doing DB curls in my squat rack most likely. I’m back there Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun but won’t be there this Saturday cuz I’ll be in Nashville being a cowgirl.

More to the point, ouro asked about the barfights and you skirted around the issue. You probably just made up the arrested part to feel cool and fit in with the internet crowd.

Oh, my sweet little Courtney…I know I’m being pulled in here, but I’ll still point you to this:

There’s one for ya! If you like, I can detail the time I fought a guy on top of the hood of a cab while he drove backwards trying to shake us off…or for a more personal account, you could just stop by what used to be the texas border, I think there’s still some of my blood on the corner to the right of the door, haha.

One day we shall all meet in Burlington, and it will be grand. Grand, I say. My new coach includes no direct arm work though, sadly…

Ouro, I land at 130ish I think on Sunday and will likely have to more or less go right away if I want to fit my session in before the gym closes.

Bear in mind they’ve never met you and are only looking at the nice, fresh faced picture on you avatar.

Sunday, I’m likely heading in at 8am and going for a late breakfast with a friend. Hopefully we can get together the following Sunday because my last set of squats will be a triple at 235. I may need some derisive laughter to help out.

My 220 last night wasn’t too bad. I did my belt a notch looser and I didn’t see black spots at the end.
