Hey, glad to see you’re still alive.
You really are a power lifting rock star and performed well. I really had no doubt you would though.
Other than the ugly untoasted bagel incident, you were a lot of fun too. But that wasn’t my problem so there you go :)[/quote]
I agree, a real rockstar. Not too much of a bitch either, even though she tries to sound mean.
Court, you rocked it out, like I knew ya would. Thanks for dinner and the “entertainment” LOL. You guys made it the day all worth it.
I look forward to hanging out with ya’ll again.

So I’m already itching to get back in the gym. I plan on heading in tonight and just doing some light squats and bench as well as some assisstance work. I need to do something to get moving again. I’ve felt so tired and blah and definitely feel the post-meet crash that I’ve heard about. I’m going to use this week to ease back into things and get back up to some working weights I’m used to. Then…
The next meet I’m looking at is 11 training weeks away (assuming a start next Monday). During that time I want to get into a squat suit, I want to get into a Sheiko template and I want to play around with some different stances (ie. pulling sumo).
I think I know what Sheiko program I want to use but have a few emails out to get some more experienced opinions. I’ve already heard from tons of people that I should increase what I input my 1RM as for each lift.
I totally just lost my train of thought… so, I’m ending this awkwardly worded post
So I went to the gym tonight planning to squat and bench light. I ended up just doing what felt good:
Squat
45x10x1 Front squat
45x10x1 Back squat
95x5x1 Front
95x5x1 Back
135x5x3
185x1x2
205x1x1 Belt
225x1x1 Belt
Bench (paused)
45x8x1
65x5x1
85x5x2 (had wanted to go for a 3rd set, but it felt heavy)
105x1x1 (HEAVY!)
DB Flyes
10x10x3
I was in and out in about an hour. It was nice to get back into it but my body tired really quickly… could have been the super short breaks I took as well. Will head in again Thurs and Saturday probably to get some blood flowing. My body is still fairly tired and sore from Saturday so I won’t be pushing it. I plan on staying out of wraps for at least a week or two cuz my knees still hurt.
I’ve decided to take the rest of the week off. I might go in on Sunday, or I might wait until Tuesday. Literally all my body wants to do is eat and sleep. I’m like a newborn. Yesterday I had a snow day so stayed home. I woke up at 630am to check the weather/roads and decided to stay home. I then slept for probably an additional 6-7 hours throughout the day.
I’m between projects at the moment so don’t have anything to do. My boss said with the weather like this I might as well just stay home as long as I have my crackberry handy, so I am. Well wouldn’t you know it… I literally just woke up at 11am. I was asleep by midnight-ish, so that’s an uninteruppted 11 hours of sleep. And the only reason I got out of bed was because I realized how pathetic I was.
Eat, sleep, recover, repeat. That’s my mantra for the next few days.

That sounds very nice. I’m still pretty flattened myself but mixed in is anxiety over ramping up for the next round.
You lie on the sofa and watch Dr. Phil. You can mock him for me.

Just imagine how much energy you would have if I was still there

You would be cooking for me, cleaning for me… sigh… that would be the life. I wouldn’t have to lift a finger

Thanks
The bench looked easy cuz it was my opener. I agree that the deadlift looked easy-ish, but it didn’t feel it. Just means I have more in me since it still came up quickly.
With the squat, my handler told me exactly what my issue was, so I was able to get back and complete my third. It was definitely still a bummer, but you bet I will not be cutting my squats high because my weight is forward on my toes ever again
I’m going to be starting Sheiko on Tuesday. I’m training with ouro tomorrow but just going to do some light bench and squat. I’ve been foam rolling and doing mobility so am feeling better.
I took my poor puppy to the leash free today. Usually she ends up being the bully, but she was the only female there amongst 4 males. There were 2 great danes and they basically molested her. Boxers and danes have a tendency to ‘play’ the same way with their front paws up ‘boxing’ or smushing each other.
Well, one smushed her while the other was humping her. It was a little awkward and she didn’t like it. The owners were pulling them off her but they were in love. When Lila wouldn’t come out from under the picnic table (she was the only one that would fit under there) I decided it was time to come home. Not to mention I couldn’t feel my feet either…
