Sheiko Day 2, Gym
This session wasn’t as tough as the last one. Something about squatting twice just really blows. I felt stronger through this one and maybe the fact that I was ready for it to take 3 hours, I didn’t worry about the time.
Deadlift:
Sumo:
135x5x1
150x4x1
Conventional:
180x4x1
210x3x2
240x3x3
240x2x1 → missed the 3rd rep and almost broke my knees when I dropped the bar just before lockout. Instead I just skinned them.
240x3x1
Bench Press:
65x6x1
75x5x1
90x4x2
95x3x2
100x2x2
95x3x2
90x4x1
80x6x1
75x8x1
65x10x1
DB Flies
10x10x5 → these feel really great at opening my chest up
Deadlift to Knees:
150x4x1
180x4x1
210x4x5
Good Mornings:
45x10x5
The deadlift to knees were awkward at first…until I figured out that I shouldn’t be thinking of them as a different movement. They are still a deadlift.
From the begining of mobility to the end of my bike/stretch, this took 3 hours. Both rounds of deadlifts felt like they went by quickly (even though they didn’t) because there were people that I liked around. The benching was just painful.
Speaking of benching… I was sitting there with my head down, headphones on and some dude comes and stands right in front of me. I take out an earbud and he says “Miss, do you mind helping me out between your sets?”. I figured he needed a spot and I’m asked a fair bit so said it was fine as long as he didn’t call me ‘miss’ again.
So I walk over to where he’s on a decline bench and he’s doing decline db press with fucking 90lb dumbells. He wanted me to lift them up and set them in his hands for him so he could start his set.
I helped him for his first set and basically had to deadlift (again) each of the DBs from the floor. One of the bigger guys nearby went up to him after that set and must have said something to him because he didn’t ask me for help again and this guy just plucked them up off the ground and into his hands for his remaining sets.
The best part is, when he first asked me I only had 75lbs on my barbell! For all he knew I couldn’t even lift 90lbs!
