I think your video is close – it could have gone either way depending who is sitting in the chairs. So I think your being a bit hard on yourself.

As you can tell by the videos, I had major ‘getting my stuff on’ issues today…

I also realized through watching the videos that I don’t take the bar off in a strong position… I’m not sure if it’s just at my gym because of how the rack is set up, but my lower half is not far enough under the bar. No way will I be able to unrack heavier weights in that position…

I think them looking heavy on the walkout is because I was in that stupid rack and not in the cage. I can’t fully stand upright and instead have to go up and out in order to unrack and not hit the safeties about it. I’ve been using the powercage/Niagara cage for the last few weeks and so am used to being able to just stand straight up. These I feel unbalanced immediately.

You can tell me how you think they look on Friday when I don’t have a shitty squat rack to use.

Those squats probably wouldn’t count at a Colorado meet. For some reason, our refs are all really anal, and you have to sink em practically ATG. While this is nice for making sure you train right, it is really aggravating at the same time.

Nevertheless, good lifting, and it is a light light weight for you, baby!

These two I’ll agree with.

The bar was a little low in the rack, but you also look like you’re between pins – it’s either too high on your back or you’re crouching. I generally choose crouching over not being sure I can re-rack a heavy bar, but you do have to get your feet and hips under it.

Thanks for the article… that explains what the Niagara guys have been coaching me to do.

I’m definitely between pins so am crouching. When I stand straight up in the rack I was in, I hit the bottom part of the pins above me (which isn’t good) so I’m forced to do an “up and back” move that throws me off balance. The higher pins are way way too high for me.

I think I’ll video again on Friday just to make sure I’m doing it properly. And if not, I’ll head down to see the boys on Saturday morning and just do a bunch of unracking.

As an aside, had a big drop in weight this morning so I’m at 68.3kg. Inching closer to 67.5! I wasn’t expecting a drop until later this week so, needless to say, I’m really happy. Ouro, you better be eating to get that weight back up!

I don’t know. So far we have two for too high and four for passing on depth. Therefore, the passes have it.
