I’m finally off 8x3s for squats. He didn’t want to change me til Sunday but I bitched enough about it that he did. I haven’t squatted in 10 days so it felt a little funny and I was having issues, enough to be corrected after/during every set. Meh. Sunday will be better.

Coach was in a mood tonight. As O alluded to, the boy was getting too much attention and was getting frustrated and looked upset. O was getting ignored because she’s the Cinderella that nobody cares about or remembers. The rest of us were all getting some variant of shit. I think Pete might have been the only one he liked… he actually praised him and said “That’s how you squat!”

Despite all this, I knew I needed a good nood-boosting session to alleviate the bitchiness/violenceness that has been me lately so I made sure I did. In fact, speaking with Todd earlier he said I must be absolutely pleasant to be around these days. I explained that I was. Asked if he wanted to do dinner and he said No and to remind him to stay far away from me. Maybe I’ll kick HIM in the teeth…

So I’m going to throw out the numbers that I think Court will do in Niagara in January.

This assumes she is using wraps and belt only.

Squat: 250
DL: 270
Bench: 110

Total 630 lbs or 286 kg

The provincial/national qualifying total for her weight class is 262.5 kg.

That gives her lots of room so she should be able to qualify easy peasy.

For anyone else that’s seen her train what do you think? Maybe we should throw some cash at this.

You guys got no heat in that barn LOL, January is gonna suck. We have the opposite problem, my PL gym is in an old building downtown with hot water heat. Last weekend it was like a sauna, and there is no thermostat to lower it.

Good to see you and O are having decent training sessions these days, I’m just sitting here bored waiting for Sunday’s meet. I can’t wait to start a new training cycle.

Court, before I put cash on this, what are you pulling right now, I don’t recall seeing any DL vids.

As for DLing… I haven’t done it the last few weeks cuz my back has been sufficiently effed. I’ve pulled 235 for a single ‘fairly’ easily, pulled a 225 single on my own a few weeks ago for shits and giggles. Sunday I’ll likely be doing 195x5x3 unless he’s going to be nice and drop me down to 5 and 1 like everyone else.

I’ll be peaking in the next few weeks then cutting back to peak again for Jan 24th.

Sorry for the late response. Just getting up off the floor after laughing about kicking ME in the teeth. Court, you’ve punched me before and it didn’t hurt, so why would it now? :slight_smile:

As for her numbers, those are pretty good guesses. She still has two months of training left. I think she’s at the top of the squat curve so that number won’t increase significantly. I could see her squeezing out 265 (345 if some dude tells her she can’t).

Pulling I haven’t seen her do too much. But she’s getting the proper instruction now so I can’t really say with utmost certainty. I’ll say she pulls 285lbs.

As for bench, the girl has untapped potential in my opinion. She’s learning HOW to bench and she’s a pretty good pupil in terms of taking in and applying knowledge. She’s at 100lbs now. In 2 months, with say a 2.5lb increase over 8 weeks, that another 20lbs. I’ll say she benches 120lbs.

So here are my guesses:

Squat - 265lbs/ 120.2kg
Dead - 285lbs/ 129.2kg
Bench - 120lbs/ 54.4kg

That’s 670lbs or 303kg.

I’ve been having some issues with DL, just getting off the floor fast enough. I’ll aim for 230 on Sunday, I’ve done 225 with fairly good speed. Once you are all healed up, post some vids, then I’ll place my bet!

By the way. We do actually have heat. It’s a giant space heater that is either on or off. It’s either freezing or hot flash territory.

Last night, however, we did get some exterior lighting. We are way out in the country and since the time has changed, it is like the bottom of a coal mine dark when we leave. We fumble around in the dark trying to find our vehicles. I think Bill was getting worried that the coyotes would start picking us off in the dark.

Well, I’ll open at 105 bench, 175 squat and 215 DL. I need 237.5 kg to make national totals. I should be able to pull of a 110 bench (50 kg), 185 squat (85 kg) and 225 DL (102.5). That’s right on the money, but the squat and DL numbers I am planning as second attempts, so anything more than that is icing.

They are numbers I’ve hit in the past few weeks, but all bets are off in a meet. We shall see, last time I did not have enough food in me when we started squatting, hopefully I will be able to eat more this time.
I’ll go to the gym today and do some light stuff because I’m bored to death right now. The highlight of my day yesterday was getting snow tires.
