Is your goal body comp related or are you just trying to shock your system?

Well it’s a little complicated. It all started after a discussion on if I could make the 132lb weight class for PLing and I know I’d have to get a bit closer to it beforehand.

It will definitely shock my system. Into doing what, who knows. I’m all up for trying different things to learn more about my body.
Yeah it will be a shock for sure! Its always interesting to see exactly what you can get your body to do, and its nice to know that you are totally in control of your body and not just along for the ride.

10 days seems kind of short, especially depending on how clean you can stay when you go back to a regular diet (whatever regular is).

Since you’re interested in power, and are currently into the deadlift, keep in mind that it might be worthwhile to do carb cycling and eat a little more carbs early in the day on workout days. Those flat days in the gym were serious downers.

It’s an experiment for 10 days. I’m not training how I’d normally be training and I’m okay if I see some strength drops in those 10 days. I’m not thinking I’ll drop to X weight and stay there once I start having carbs again. We’re just playing

Day One

Game on.

Woke up a bit earlier today so I could weigh, measure and picture myself. Here’s the damage:

Weight: 155.4lbs
Measurements:
Shoulders - 41
Chest - 33
Ribs - 30 1/4
Waist - 28 1/2
Midsection - 33
Hips - 37 1/2
Thigh - 23 (both)
Calf - 15 (both)
Bicep - 10.5 (both)

I know where I measured myself so will be able to measure the same places in 10 days. The only one I’m not confident with is my shoulders because it’s a little tough to do on your own.

So it’s just after 9am, I’m down breakfast and 1L of water, working on number 2. I’m not counting water that I have in my shakes or while training and will be aiming for 5-6L outside of that. Which really means I’ll be at 6-8L.

I have a high rep upper body session to do tonight between work and volleyball. Running Guy is doing well too, he was up earlier than I was so is already down 2L of water. Jerk!

Anyone else wanna get in on the fun? The guesses so far:

Todd: <148
DD: 149.4-150.4
Sayjin: 150-151

The winner gets a prize to be determined by me.

hmm, how much different are your workouts?

I’m going to have to say 151-152, but inches lost will probably be greater…

Well you’ve seen examples of all of my recent workouts. What I’ll be doing over the next 10 days Todd posted maybe a page ago. Each Upper/Lower day is 5 exercises, no supersets. I have two upper 3x12-15 days, one lower 3x12-15, one upper 5x6 day and two lower 5x6 days. I also have three HIIT sessions and one longer low intensity.

The cardio is all basically ‘new’ to my program. I’ve been running a bit, but not consistently and I haven’t been doing HIIT.

What does the number 5 signify to me right now?

It’s the number of times that I’ve been to the bathroom since arriving at work. Five freaking times in a little less than 3.5 hours. So not a happy camper considering I’m also freezing cold.

I’m such a whiney baby

Oh, and I just noticed what I’ve done to you.

You have to Bench today… and it’s Monday. Enjoy!
Muawhahahahha!!

You are evil. There’s a reason why Mondays have been leg days forever. It’s okay, I’ll just join the pack doing bench-Monday. The only bad part is I’m limited as to what time I can go at because of volleyball.

I will likely hurt someone tonight since I need a bench for bench press AND skullcrushers (which I do…an amazing feat for a chick). And then you’re also making me fight for the seated row at the universal machine? You’re an ass.

haha. This was me the week before the meet. I felt like pulling my desk into the bathroom. I was also freaking cold. Having that much water inside you chills you from the inside.

I started drinking warm water. Even people touching me commented on how cold my body felt.

This will be an interesting experiment for you.

I’m just about to head for trip #9 after 4.5L. Interestingly enough I feel cold during the day but at night am rather warm.

The girlfriend often pushes me away cause I’m, and I quote, ‘a f$%kin furnace’. She’s such a lady sometimes.

It’s one of those things you don’t get used to. I cannot wait till I up my water intake from 8L to 12L. Oh the joy!

I’m just glad I thought to grab a jacket this morning. As it is, I’m wearing a short sleeve sweater with long pants. But my new fall jacket is keeping me warm. Just my hands. I’m thinking of bringing in a pair of thin gloves…or smokers gloves… so I can continue to type.

Would it be unsanitary to bring my laptop into the bathroom and just sit in there so I don’t have to move to pee? On a plus, I’m getting more NEPA in today than usual hahaha.

So I furthered Todd’s point of me only be sometimes smart today at lunch. I wish I could blame it on being glycogen depleted, however I can’t. Instead I will blame it on my body wondering if I’m trying to drown it and wondering why I haven’t had any real carbs yet.

So I baked salmon last night in tinfoil. This morning, threw it (still wrapped) in my tupperware on top of my spinach. Got to work and put it all in the fridge.

Lunchtime comes around and obviously I don’t want to put my tupperware in the microwave since there’s spinach in there. So without thinking (mainly cuz I was eyeing the chocolate brownie and cookie tray someone left in there) I pop my salmon in the microwave and turn it on for a minute.

At the end of the minute, I open the tinfoil, my fish is still super cold. I think someone maybe played around with the power, so put it on high and put it in again. 20 seconds in I hear some sizzling so think “Great, it’s finally heating”. I start watching it and at 30 seconds, there’s a loud pop and I see a flame. I quickly turn off the microwave and there is no damage besides to my ego. I’m retarded.

Running Guy also had a dumbass moment not too long ago and decided to share (before he knew about my dumbass move)… he went the wrong way on the highway and went 2 exits before he realized. He was also going someplace he goes everyday…

So between the two of us, the score is World/Carbs: 1, Court/RG: -2

LOL!!
I wanted to ‘cook,’ my potato chips when I was little…they were still in the bag. What a light show that was!

I remember this guy I used to work with. We called him Snow, as in the Informer (Canadian reference here) since he looked like Snow. His name was Brian.

Anyway, he decided to warm up his two Arby Roast Beef Sandwiches in the lunch room. They were both in foil in a paper bag.

I remember the look on the fire department Chief’s face vividly. It was a cross between ‘Are you for real right now?’ and ‘How old ARE you?’

At least Court didn’t do it in front of anyone or cause $1000 worth of damage.

“Informer, you no say daddy me snow me Ill go blame,
A licky boom boom down.”

I had a quick thought/question…
If you are trying to cut down on your weight a little, why not just add in the cardio first, since you eat well anyway?..
I don’t understand the torture of cutting carbs if you don’t really have to. Unless it was a challenge, like ‘I double dog dare you,’ then you must be more stubborn than I thought! :stuck_out_tongue:

What happens if you DO lose some pounds? Will you stick to this lo-carb plan to try to keep the pounds off? Or just keep up the cardio and see what happens?

It was more of a challenge than anything. I’ve been known to be a little stubborn. Plus I haven’t been eating as well as I’d like or tracking as carefully. Getting into a ‘competition’ of sorts with Todd gave me the jump start back into tracking my food and eating well and well-timed.

I certainly won’t stay THIS low carb long term as I will definitely see decreases in strength if I do. I’ll talk to Todd as the 10 days progress and see how my body fares and what might work a bit more longer term without sacrificing strength (too much anyway).

Wow, your front squat numbers are very legit Court, looks like things are rolling right along for you!

Okay this might be a very stupid question… but what do you mean they are “very legit”?
Very legit meaning that your front squat numbers, compared to other women (and a lot of guys) who do front squats, are above average. I’ve never seen a female do a front squat with more than an empty bar. Not only have you surpassed the empty bar, but you’ve got some serious weight on there.

It’s a good thing Court, keep improving those numbers.

I lost 7 pounds during my 12 day induction to the AD and I didn’t do any HIIT. Does Todd get everything below 148? I’m not sure if you have what it takes, but if you actually can work as hard as you think you can I would take 146-147.

I’ll take 147.

Updates:

 1. Broccoli is my crack.
 2. I have peed 15 times today and I’ve been awake for 11 hours. I will still be drinking close to 3L of water between training, volleyball and my shake.

New weight guesses:

Borrek: 146-147
Pch2: 147
Todd: 146-148
DD: 149.4-150.4
Sayjin: 150-151
MiM: 151-152

I changed Todd’s to what he initially told me. He doesn’t get free reign over anything below 147
