Removing Weights?

You know, this bothers me too. As far as shared bathrooms go, why do women insist that men leave the toilet seat down, yet they never put it up? Why should I always be doing the work?

Why is it common courtesy to remove the weights? What if the next person plans on doing the exact same thing as you? Then all you’ve done is created more work for them. And if that person is an old guy who was a real dick and demanded that you remove the weights, would you?

Also, I went to a new gym today. Man it was great. A real gym with loud stuff and no “no loud noises” signs. And it’s cheap!

But uhm, we were doing shoulder shrugs, but I’ve just been wanting to pick up 405, just because I never had before.

i know what you mean. one time i did a 700lbs bicep curl

the beauty of a home gym lol. I don’t like being lazy, but after an exhausting w/o at home I leave the weights set up a lot of times.[/quote]

LOL. The instinct to clear up gets deeply ingrained. I find myself re-racking dumbells between exercises when working out at home … just in case someone else wants them??

If you get tired of lifting the seat you can become a sitz pinkler

and everytime he holds a shoe, someone’s bf% drops

do you guys grunt when you get your swell on in the gym too?

I hate to purposely go out of my way to make a spectacle of my self in the gym.

If people see me hit a set thats fine, if they are doing curls and are drawn to me because Im going YAAAAARRRRRGRRRAGGGGG YEAH BUDDDYYY!!! then I feel like a douche bag.

Yesterday we went to a new gym, which made me understand just how different commercial gyms and real weightlifting gyms are. I loved it there, and it was cheap too!

And they played metallica!

What you people fail to realize is that this is not actually a joke.

At Gainesville Health and Fitness Center, they told my friend not to drop the weights, which were rubber at the end, so loudly, and that maybe he should use lighter weight if he couldn’t control himself. And one time a new employee talked to me for 10 minutes when I was in the middle of my session. But they have a lot of pretty girls working there and training there, there’s none at the Gainesville Gym, even though it’s better. But you can be loud at the Gainesville Gym. It’s a dilemma.

I always tell myself I should put this shit away, but I never do. Except I do take the plates off my Smith machine after calves on leg day because it’s not good for the equipment to leave all that weight sitting on it. I REALLY have to motivate myself because I have nothing left after leg day. I will make no bones about the fact that I am a terminal slob would have long ago perished from some sort of environmental contamination if it weren’t for my wife.

Talk about random comments…

I put it down before I start. The lid too. Sure it is messy but at least no one complains that I leave it up.

I had a chick roommate for a while that would always complain about the toilet seat being up so I stopped using it to piss. I just started pissing in the shower all the time.

A practical solution, no doubt.

I weigh 190 pounds now. When I started a year ago I weighed 145. I call that pretty good progress, although obviously a good chunk of it is fat, because I certainly haven’t been a “healthy” bulker. But I’m still pretty happy with myself, and the strength gains have been great. Just yesterday I used 90lb dumbbells for benching, I can’t wait to get to the triple digits. And I’m pressing over 135 over my head. The first time I pressed 135 was really cool. I love adding plates.

Here’s a question, why is it so much easier to leg press than to squat? Is it because there’s really no form involved with the leg press? I think my problem with squatting is that everything else gets tired before my quadriceps, whereas with leg press it’s a pretty basic movement.

Haha, for me it’s deadlifts for sure. Im so exhausted that I just say, screw it, and clean it up the next day. Only problem is my dad forces me to clean the shit up as we workout on different schedules so I wind up cleaning up a couple hours after my workouts anyways.

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with my squatting, and today it was actually good for the first time in a long time.

Today was also the last day at the fitness club, friday is the first day at the real gym. I’m giddy. I can’t wait for everyone to know how jacked and tan I am.
