Squat and Deadlift Day at TSF with Kristi.

Worked up to 70% of my best with Knee Wrap Squat (350) but, did them without Knee Wraps for 2 sets of 5 and 1 set of 10. I had more in me but, saved it for next week and will shoot for 12-15ish.

I was supposed to do Rack Pulls but the guys set up the Rack to Reverse Band Pulls so I just hopped in with them as I figured its essentially the same thing. Worked up to 585 for a easy double. Could have hit 4 or 5 reps for sure but just wanted to take it easy and this was literally double my previous best on this so I figured that would suffice.

Wide Grip Pulldowns sets of 10 all done very strict with 140, 160, 180, 210 for 2 sets.

Triple Set of Ab Table Crunches, GHR, and Hanging Leg Raises. 3 sets total. first set 10 reps, second set 15 reps, third set 20 reps.
Went home and had a bunch of Sushi… and life was good.
Your a Puss

Heavy Bench day at TSF with all the geared guys yesterday. So I was talked into using a Ram and really overloading my Triceps and Lockout power which probably not a bad thing for me.

Bench Press: 140 for 10
190 for 8
230 for 8
Add Ram: 280 for 8
320 for 3
350 for 1
370 for 1
Lose Ram: 225 for 10/ 8/ 6/ 4/ 2

Nuetral Grip Pulldown: 100 for 10
120 for 10
140 for 10
160 for 10
180 for 10
Add Fat Gripz: 120 for 10
130 for 10
140 for 8

Triceps Pushdown: 100 / 110/ 120/ 130/ 140/ 150/ 160/ 170 all for 10

370 Bench with Ram from last night.

Killer squatting man. Of course I guess I should expect that from a guy who’s within 10ft of Sam Byrd on a regular basis. Your legs have no choice but to get stronger haha.

No joke man just being around him makes your Squat increase haha.

Thanks again, what would you recommend for me testing my deadlift max? I will likely need a new max to train with by then. Would doing my max squat on week 8, go pull whatever I am going to pull for a max rep, then just do a few sets of abs/back be a good plan?
If I was you personally I would max your Squat and Deadlift on the same day and then do nothing the rest of session that is plenty for sure. I would take a few days off Test your Upper Body moves and then take a few days completely off or at least very very light. Then start the cycle over with new movements unless the same problems are still needing to be addressed.
It sounds like a good plan, I’ll try that. My lifts are up to 320/240/360 at around the 160-ish area.

Yeah I have noticed man your making some good progress. Keep the intensity and keep going. You need to get your butt on a platform and compete already.

Front Squat to a ME single. Worked up to 405lbs. Massive 40lbs PR.

Behind the Neck Jerk to a ME single. Worked up to 300lbs. Was very off have not done these in months.

Close Leg Press: 2 plates for 25, 4 plates for 15, 5 plates 3 sets of 12

GHR: 3 sets of 8

300 Behind the Neck Jerk

Great session today at TSF with Kristi and the Crew.

Started with Back Squats and really should have stuck to my volume but felt good and decided to be stupid and go for a test Squat today. I worked up to 420 with out knee wraps or belt for a single. I moved on to knee wraps and a belt and worked up to 510. It looked ok absolutely buried it depth wise but shifted forward and leaned over and spotter had to give me a slight hand to straighten back up. Would not have counted in a meet but was relatively happy with it.

Reverse Band Deadlifts: 315 for 8
405 for 5
495 for 5
585 for 2
635 for 1

Was in Physical pain fom the Squats and called it after this I will def be taking it easy and resting up for the next week some light Bench and Volume/Tech Squat work maybe. Sunday am looking for 370 for sets of 5 on squat.

Nice PR’s lately! STRONG!

So Sam finally got back into the gym after a 2 week lay off and we had a some what decent squat day today at TSF.

Worked up to 380 for 2 sets of 3. Next set was supposed to be 380 for make reps but, Sam suggested wrapping up and taking 420 for a few just to feel how a decent Knee Wrap felt. So I went up and hit 420 for 3 pretty easy reps. The hardest part was getting down to depth due to the wraps being so damn tight but, the weight flew up and felt great once I started coming out of the hole. Also having a pretty rough time keeping my knees from shooting out in front of me so really really having to sit back. Wanted to take one more set for 5 or 6 but Sam said wait till next and refused to wrap my knees so I said ok :-(.

Went down to 240 for 3 sets of 6 1 1/2 Rep Pause Squats. These sucked.

3 sets of 12 GHR

Also sliced the piss out of arm with a piece of glass this week and have 13 stitches in my forearm so upper body and espeacially deadlifts will be put on hold for atleast 2 weeks most likely

hahaha awesome blew the picture up awesomely

Delicious.

Dude that’s gnarly as fuck.

Oh yeah first time I have ever seen my own ligament lol was so weird if I moved my forearm they moved was so awesome but not

Had a unplanned out of no where Squat and Deadlift day at TSF with Sam. I was really feeling tight and def not quite recovered from Sundays session but oh well I was not going to bitch out tonight.

Worked up to 330 on Squats for 5 sets of 5 beltless. Rest was kept to about 2 minute tops took me and Sam 14 mins to finish both our 5 sets of 5 which is a very high pace for us. Really had some serious back pumps from this don’t know what it was from but, I am guessing tight Hams and just not being recovered from this week end.

Moved on to Deadlift off a 4in Block 135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 405x5 and 500 for 5. I did strap in for the 500x5 even though I probably had the grip to hold it the 13 stitches in my forearm said I could wear straps and feel pretty good about it. This was a massive PR for me and totally unexpected.

4 sets of 20 Hanging Leg Lifts to try and get my back pump to go away more than anything… Unsuccessful haha.

Aparently we are deadlifting from the ground on Thursday with about 85% for 10 sets of 1 for what ever reason. I don’t know why or what the hell has Sam wanting to Deadlift so much this week for but, it needs to go on somewhere haha.

Attempted to have a some what productive press day not sure if it was or not but, what ever. Since my elbow and Ulnar Nerve has been giving me such a bad time recently I am having to really rethink my training in order to try and keep my pressing some what up but not be in enough pain to kill people. So I decided in stead of going straight into pressing I did the opposite as usual and decided to do all my pulling moves before to hopefully get some blood into the area and warm up nicely. Was some what successful but, am going to have no choice but, to continue light and be very selective of my pressing.

Wide Pulldown 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200 all for sets of 12.
Straight Bar Cable Row: 4 sets of 15 with 85lbs. These are down forcing my shoulders down and back with scapula pulled back hard. Even with such light weight my lower lats and traps are on fire with these.

Floor Press I worked up to 155lbs pretty light for 6 sets of 10.

Hammer Curls 3 sets of 20 with 20lbs
Tricep Pressdown 3 sets of 20 with 60lbs.

Done Last night with Rex and Sam.

Deadlift 405lbs (78% 1rm): 5 sets of doubles and 5 sets of singles. Each rep fast as possible up and a very slow and controlled negative with a barely touch and go.

Barbell Row: 225 for 4 sets of 15, 245 for 2 sets of 12
