Medium would be pretty compressed…

hey STB in your opinion how compressed is the shirt(or whole suit) compared to say a pair of normal compression shorts? DO you think you could get a similar effect from standard comp. gear or is there a significant difference?
Trolling aside this has been very informing. I wonder, does anyone sit all day at work like i do? Have you worn compression to work and noticed any difference in stiffness from sitting all day?
I rarely get DOMS but when I do it is pretty brutal. I might have to experiment.
And to the guy who wore compression while biking, there is a boatload of evidence (up to te point it is common knowledge) that keeping your knees warm helps big time with soreness and recovery in cold weather.
Went out and got the under armor core pro compression shorts as well as a few compression shirts. We’ll see if I notice a difference any.

In order to get the most benefit from the compression, you need to wear it for 24 after your training session. I don’t know about you but I don’t think wearing my squat suit for that long would be very comfortable.
The UA compression shirt is awesome. Would just a tight heat gear shirt have the same effect? Probably but I have no idea. The compression shirt is designed to be super tight in certain places like on the triceps and across the lats which I think is a fantastic idea. A normal shirt wouldnt do this. The recovery shirt is also slightly different material. I would suggest just foring out the extra cash and get the recharge.

LM, notice a difference?
Yes, I have. In particular on how sore I feel in my hips after heavy squatting or squatting wide. My compression shirt isn’t nearly as tight as the compression shorts I bought and I haven’t noticed much there but the hips being fresher has been huge for me. I’m thinking about getting a compression belt as well to help with my low back.

Nice, you think an ace bandage would be good enough for compression on the lower back?
^ Interesting.
Are you wearing the compression gear just while training or for a period of time after?

No. An Ace bandage is likely to move a bit too much and slide up and down to really compress in my opinion.
Also I wear it for about 24 hours after I train, I’ll sleep in it as well. I do not wear it to train.
Popping up in science culture now, too:
